Oh goodness, counter surfing! Tessa did this as a puppy... she is just so curious, she wants to see everything! Try a tin full of pennies and rattle it when she jumps to startle her and direct her somewhere else. That helped us.

Ya Tessa was shy too. Now she's Miss Personality. When she pushes Cody out of the way, we say "No" and make her sit beside us and have her stay while we pet Cody in front of her. It's sort of working. Cody is a suck face so he lets her do it. We have to stand up for him. This seems like a good place to begin with this issue.

I'd sure like to know what you're doing to counter the "pushing her brother out of the way" problem. Gabby does that too.

She was so timid and shy in the beginning that she didn't have many bad habits - mostly gnawing. She's more confident and outgoing now. She's just started counter surfing. I keep a close eye on her and generally don't have things she would want lying about. She'll do it out of boredom or sometimes I think just for attention.

Hi fellow Dood Whisperers!
I am a huge fan of Cesar Millan and his practises. I have used a few of his techniques in helping Tessa with some of her behavioral issues. His methods and reasoning make so much sense. Some of the best walks and training moments come right after watching an episode. I'm in the right mental zone and Tessa picks up on my energy and is such a good girl.

Some issues we're working on:
Alarm barking (at dogs, people in the street)
Mouthing when she's excited
Pushing her brother Cody out of the way for attention

She used to counter surf as a pup and was shy of people. She is over the surfing however is still a little apprehensive around new people.

Anyway, hope this gets a discussion going!
