Glad Sad News

My beautiful foster Gabby is going to the most wonderful home a dog could ever wish for. She's is going to be the best friend of a young lady whose parents are heavily involved in dog rescue. She's going to have a huge yard, doggy sibling, and a pet human who is very interested in all kinds of dog activities. We already miss her silliness, her puppiness, her gentleness and her incredible eyes.See More

Are you now involved in Rescue? If so how?
Yes. Just got introduced to doodles with my new foster-dog Gabbie. She's so adorable but I can see how many are being abandoned as teenage dogs are never as cute as puppies and usually not very well-behaved. Probably grooming will be my biggest concern. Grooming my aussie mostly consists of sweeping up huge piles of hair a couple of times a day.

TheRash and the New Collar

Posted on August 27, 2009 at 1:45pm 3 Comments

Gabby apparently has rather tender skin. Her first collar gave her this horrible rash, all her neck fur fell out. We had it checked to be sure it wasn't anything worse and changed her collar. That helped but we decided that a soft cloth collar would be most gentle for her healing skin.

I went online and decided $15 to $25 was just too much to spend for something I could make with scraps I have at home.

So I've uploaded some new pictures showing her ugly rash and her new… Continue

GabbieDoodle

Gabby is my first foster dog and my first doodle. She came from the wonderful people of Arizona Poodle Rescue.

Gabbie was found by animal control wandering the streets of Phoenix. She was filthy and parasite-infested. She was so shy of people that if anyone just reached out a hand to her she darted as quickly and as far away as she could.

When I picked her up she had been clipped but still needed that flea and tick bath. She was terrified of the car and had to be… Continue

Welcome Gwen. I just read about Gabbie. You are an angel for rescuing and helping her to trust again. Give her time and she will be a wonderful companion. I have 3 rescues of my own and am fostering a beautiful three legged doodle right now. If you need any help or just a sounding board, just shout. Big hugs, Lynne
