The Doodle Messenger has added a 6th very sick Doodle and this Rescue site!

Hello everyone, The Doodle Messenger has added a young Doodle needing elbow displasia surgery to it's other five Doodles.  Riley's parents really need a hand (paw) form anyone who reads his story.

http://doodlemessenger.webs.com    Imagine owning a dog who has such trouble with both front elbows, that the delicate surgery to repair the condition is of itself very dangerous and very expensive.  A small donation of even $10 dollars made by many will help.  While reading the stories of the Doodles there...think, this could be my dog.

You will find this site on the Messenger's Resource Links, thank you for all your good work...hope visitors notice you there and click on and join here!!

There is a new video of our tripod (tripawd) Rusty..another relatively you Doodle with a rear leg amputation.  While Rusty's is a terminal condition, he has undergone substantial chemo, is healthy enough to swim now...and we think you will smile to watch his Dad, Chuck, video Rusty Surfin'

To the tune of the Beach boys.  And, to draw attention to canine cancer awareness.

The Messenger will soon have a premium (paid) site which will allow us more creativity on the site and more space.  The volunteer board is sharing the cost of this change. Stay tuned!

Our guest columnist Dr. Alice Villalobos has posted a radio podcast...it seems to appear and disappear on the site...hope when you visit you will be able to listen to this world known oncologist.

Like this site, we are going to seek corporate sponsors and donors for the sick Doodles, we know we need more financial suppport for the owners.  These treatments and surgeries run around $10,000 and up...questionable pet insurance coverages...some have been turned down as a pre-existing condition.  Read the stories.  You don't have to be a Doodle owner to see the issues.

If you have any ideas for us for corporate donors, don't hesitate to share with us.  I'm the e-agent for this year's Volunteer Board and I''ll take any suggestions. My e-mail is on the Messenger.

Most important to remember.  If you have a dog who is sick...the Resources section of our site has Veterinary University Hospitals and Medical Centers....loads, and loads of accurate information on all kinds of issues, medications, clinical trials...just name it. Very interesting.  Find one close to you and navigate the site. We have listed those in Europe as well.

Please read Riley's story. Please visit the Messenger for research. Please remember all of the Doodles there in your thoughts and prayers.    Thanks friends here, Dr. Judy for the Founders Board

Judy,

Thank You for sharing this with our members. I think everyone, here, knows the love of a dog and hopefully, cannot imagine what these pet parents are going through but will search their hearts to help in some way. I also hope that none of our members have to go through something like this but if they ever do, it should be comforting to know that there are groups like The Doodle Messenger to help them and communities like this one to be there for them, so they don't go through it alone.

Thank You, too, for linking to our Rescue Resource Collective on The Doodle Messenger, site. We appreciate your friendship and support. It is very important to us that our two communities respect and appreciate each other. It is truly in the best interest of the animals that all animal lovers are united to ensure pet parents are educated about pet ownership, to make sure people know they have choices and options other than euthanasia and shelters and that they have understanding and support in their time of need. None of us can succeed in isolation but united, we can do many good things.

We may no longer be "just about doodles" on this site anymore, but that does not mean that doods don't own many of our hearts. They always will. But being a resource for ALL Dogs, we are in the unique position to reach more pet parents so they know that these kinds of resources are available for almost every breed, usually through breed groups, and that they can seek and find much information here on this site and yours.

In the coming weeks, many canine resources will be put together in one place and we will be listing The Doodle Messenger, as one of those resources. Again, Thank You for your friendship and support...you cannot know how much we appreciate it.
Dr. Judith - the Doodle Messenger is a fantastic resource. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you...you know how hard the work is...and how needed...and from volunteers across two country's and three time zones! We look forward to February when people clamor to replace us on the Founders Board, have the continued passion, and the concern and connectedness to take it to even higher levels. The five of us are hoping people from across all the forums will want to be the people who take it from it's infancy to well past it's teen age years!!! and beyond. We have had fortunate and great interactions with teaching Vet's and Vet's in practice in establishing the Medical Links. And in a way they look after us with an "Atta girl" every once in awhile. I think if people want to look for information, really want to get answers to questions about thier dog's illness or symptoms...the way to do that is more than there. Some of our Vets have said they find it an easier way into the "literature" than some of the modes they currently use! I think that makes us feel good!!!!!! :) Thank you.
Well, I will certainly make a donation to such a good cause. I do hope others will consider even a small donation. Even an small donation adds up when a lot of people donate.
This family truly needs it...well they all do...Bella too, will be blind without surgery.
A mobile medical surgical van will be driving to Riley's Vet's to do this intricate surgery. Short of an elbow transplant X2 this surgery is all that is left for Riley.
Thanks Susan.
