A Huge thank you at a difficult time

My beloved Aunt Skip, passed away here with me and her son and dil and Hospice approximately  two and a half weeks ago.  Skip was 96 and had lived with me for 14 years; increasingly disabled with dementia as years went by.  As we learn dog language, I had come to learn Skip's dementia language and am still having trouble facing the world which speaks in full sentences and with full and understanding meaning.   Skip's passing was made more difficult not only because I loved her, but because my…See More

The Myth of Some Rescues

Last night a terrible hate speak was posted on facebook regarding this wonderful site and its webmaster.  A line in the sand was crossed to show the sheer hatefulness of two other collaborative rescue sites efforting to make Oodles look like a bizarre, unprofessional, and mean spirited site. Those of us who have watched this formation of Oodles, who have eagerly participated,  many other rescues who take posted dogs from here to their own site all in hope of  cooperatively placing Oods all know…See More

Profile Information

Are you now involved in Rescue? If so how?
I have not been asked to rescue or help with rehome with IDog in a long while. Additionally, we returned to FL in August and are now settled. I continue to assist friends and neighbors with their needs with rescue and rehome as necessary and would be delighted to help you in any way.
How did you learn about this site?
Quite by accident I happened on it while searching Doods in need.
The Rescue Collective is a wonderful site. I am currently the FL Coordinator for IDog Rescue and Rehome...we search high kill shelters almost on a daily basis to find and rescue Doodles in need and then find the most perfect home for an adoptive match. There are some beautiful Doods here and that simply helps us to know many eyes are looking and many hearts caring and responding to the needs in rescue. And for me, it is one less Doodle to worry about if a visitor sees and adopts a Doodle here! I also help other mixed breed rescues here in South Florida where I live... and so this is a site I can refer their potential adopters to as well. It does "take a village". The great joy of rescue is how we share our "kids" in need...it crosses all breeds and mixed breeds...this site recognizes that mission.

It's about 10 places! Ha! I sent to Alana and to Lynn and also somewhere here. See how immature I am on this site! 10 mo old Dood. Would you pay the fee to get him out of high kill shelter? $100? If he is still there? I am still unemployed with no income. Bah humbug!

I guess I didn't realize I had to "friend" everyone here. I'm too d*** busy rescuing and sending out emails! Facebook has added a lot of time to my day too since folks who don't like email seem to be posting there! BTW did you see my post about the Labradoodle up here?

Judy, I got the LOST dogs up here on the main page. Please let me know if there is any change or others. Thank You for all your support. If you would like to add a topic or discussion, please feel free. I know I am tired of seeing dogs returned to shelters or breeders b/c they were unprepared for training or handling that dog. I'd like to give them resources and a community of people to talk to so they don't feel alone. I would appreciate your input. All the best.
