Part 17 of My name is Marco and This is My Story.......

Last week was a very busy week for us. On Saturday we got our very first rescue foster doodle "Brandy" through IDOG. She is a very shy and needy girl who needs lots of love and attention. When I first met her I was reminded of Marco when we first adopted him. For the first day or two she would occasionally sit on our stairway mid point and just watch us. She was also very good when I leashed her to go outside to do her business.

But her favorite place to chill was under our bed which is a pretty tight squeeze. I guess she just felt safer there. Marco took to staying under the bed with her which was incredibly sweet because he could just barely fit.....he would come out a lot to socialize and play with us and then I would miss him and sure enough find him with Brandy once again.

I found the perfect forever home for Brandy with a great friend and collegue who is as much of an animal lover as me. Although uncommon for IDOG, after only 3 days we went ahead and transferred her to my friend Kenny as a foster with the commitment to adopt. Because Brandy was considered "special needs" we just didn't want her to bond with me and then be uprooted once again.......

Although Marco was very sweet with Brandy, he's so happy being the lone Big Dog around the home since she left.

That pic under the bed reminds me of when I first brought Ginger home. She was secure under our bed, too. How sweet of Marco to keep her company and let her know it was alright. I am happy she found her forever home so quickly.
