BRIDGET FROM NEBRASKA ARRIVES!-DOODLE TRAIN CALLED INTO ACTION

Bridget is an unbelievably beautiful, sweet Goldendoodle girl who's former owner was ready to have euthanized!...Why?...... because as her former owner explained to us "Bridget is growling and biting my children"...
In reality this playful pup was merely mouthing her children on their arms when greeting...NOT biting...Certainly no reason to have her euthanized!...

We finally managed to convince this woman to put Bridget on a plane and get her here to the Northeast. Well...BRIDGET HAS ARRIVED!.....Thanks to a collective effort between IDOG and The DRC, Liz Syring, Lynne and myself, we now have Bridget safe and sound in Connecticut....Bridget was flown here from Omaha, Nebraska via Houston Texas on Continental Airlines. One of if not the ONLY commercial air carrier that provides temperature controlled cargo holds for the sole purpose of providing safe transport for companion animals. (make a note)

Thanks to Lynne who really came through for me particularly because day before yesterday the head gasket on my car BLEW!..and I am without a car! Lynne came all the way up from the Jersey Shore (Yes ladies and gentlemen..Lynne actually went "over the Driscoll Bridge!" ) to pick me up and we both went to get Bridget at Newark Airport and bring her to Liz in Connecticut.

When she arrived, this poor baby girl had been in transit since 6:30 AM and was very shy and didn't want to come out of her crate...So we loaded her in the car still inside her crate with the door open and by the time we arrived in CT she was poking her head out of the door, making eye contact and wagging her tail...

We met Liz in Norfolk and by the time we sat down for a cup of java at Starbucks outdoor cafe, she was acting like a normal happy doodle...Still a tad bit shy and sticking close to us all but tail was raised, wagging and we all got a few doodle kisses from her as we sipped our coffee.

Liz now has Bridget at her house and Seamus is showing her the ropes..lol... Liz of course is going to moniter and assess her but so far there is no indication of any behavior that would warrant euthanizing this dog.....We all can't imagine why anyone would want to do such a thing....Bridget is in the IDOG Rescue Program and will be available for adoption soon.

Job well done Ladies of Rescue!..Thank you all for saving this girl's life!

AAWWWWHHHH!

Yes, I did go over that darn bridge...all because of a doodle! (And my BFF Jacquie)

Bridget is a beautiful, sweet doodle and I cannot imagine euthanizing this gorgeous girl!
She is a dream! What a beautiful doodle! Thank you all for saving her! I can tell by looking at her she is wonderful!
You are all awesome, and did such a fantastic job rescuing this sweet baby! I hope to get to meet her at the dog park Liz, when I get back to Ct...(after Labor Day)
What a great save!

It is hard to imagine that an owner would confuse rough play with aggression, but even harder to imagine that an owner wouldn't exhaust other possibilities (rehome, rescue, hiring a trainer) first before deciding to put a dog down. This just illustrates how different people are when it comes to pets. Bridget is so lucky that you were able to step in!
Bridget is beautiful.

The previous owner needs to learn that dogs play with their mouths. They dont have hands, ya know. Sheesh.
