One of Oodles of Doodles Newest Rescue girls will be on her way to NJ in another week. But we are already so excited, we just wanted to share.

This is Miss Mattie's shelter picture. When I first saw it, I immediately thought Oodle. She looked so small and scared, I wrote a rescue offer right away.

My friends at Paws, pulled her for us and this pretty lady will be on the June 4th transport, coming to rescue in NJ and will be looking for her Forever Family.

Her present foster mom, Gail says Mattie is about 4 months old and a very sweet, playful girl. She can be all rough and tumbley puppy one minute and a little love bug, the next. Mattie has now been spayed and vetted and is resting up before her big trip.

Here's another great pic of her. It's a little fuzzy, but you can really see how beautiful she is. We think she may be an Irish Doodle but we'll wait and see until she gets up here.

It's hard to tell until I meet her next week. She is scheduled to be on next weekends transport. We don't know what her background is but she is about 4 months old and her foster mom says she's very sweet and loves water.

Well, I guess she will love the big pool in my yard. Kelly has a built in pool, too. So, between the two of us, she will learn to swim. LOL All mine were taught and can safely get in and out from the steps.

Just a reminder. Mattie is crazy for water! She tries to swim in the big water bowl outside. I am going to buy her a kiddie pool tomorrow now that it is okay for her to get wet. If she is adopted by anyone with a pool, they are definitely going to have to watch her closely. And if her new family like going to the lake, well, Miss Mattilda will definitely need her own life jacket.

Awh, you really can see the difference between the "two faces of Mattie." I can't wait to meet her next week.

You are the best foster mom, Gail. Of all the shelters and rescues I have worked with, you are the only one to give me such a sense of who the doggies are before they get to me. It is so nice to be able to talk to you and feel that Oodles of Doodles is a part of their quarantine process and I know that they are not sitting in a crate for the 2 week wait time but being loved and beginning their journey to their Forever Families. I love working with you, too. I have told Carla that I may become Paws NJ as your group is one of the best I have worked with. The dogs are taken out of the shelter, fully vetted and loved by you before their transport. It makes such a difference when they arrive. They get here happy and excited instead of scared and shy. I wish all quarantine shelters worked this way.

You know, one of the goals and dreams of this website, from the day I started it, was to have a "Collective" of loving people, working together for a common goal. It got away from those dreams for awhile, but now I am so proud to see it come back to it. We are not yet a "big" rescue, but working with people like you, who work so hard to save those Southern Kill Shelter Dogs and get them to the Northeast and to loving families is why I continue to do what I do. Working with you, Gail, makes all the effort and time so very "worth it" for me, too. Fostering, like parenting a child, should be a very rewarding experience and you should be applauded for what you do. I have one foster like you here in NJ and I wish I could find a few more. When I do, we will bring more of you doggies to NJ and continue to work together to keep doing this "collective of love." Sending hugs to you and our two little care packages until next week when they come to NJ.

Even with this fuzzy picture, you can tell the difference between Mattie's Shelter picture and now. Shelter puppies get that despondent look and then you are rewarded with that "now, what do you want to do" look when you get them home and just show them love and a facsimile of what a real home is like.  Lynne makes me love being a foster mom. My puppies have such success stories and find such wonderful families, who not only open up their homes, but open up their hearts.....it makes all the effort and time so very "worth it."  Fostering is not a thankless job when they go to Oodles of Doodles.
