MEET FLYNN - http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/18035063

Flynn is a 3 month old, first gen. Labradoodle boy from a BYB (puppy mill) in PA. This sweet boy was adopted by his "breeder" to a family in New Jersey. He was returned to the "breeder" because he wasn't holding down his food and their vet said it would be an expensive surgery to fix an esophagus problem.

Flynn has only been with me for a few hours but in that time, he met my pack, played with some puppy chew toys that I found around the house and has eaten my homecooking several times and has had no problems. I started by giving him a few bites here and there and he held it down and came back for more. Just plain chicken, smashed peas and brown rice.

I went looking at the papers that came with him and the family was feeding Purina Puppy Chow. Could this be the problem? We will see. I have an appointment for Monday and some housetraining to do, then Flynn will be looking for his new Forever Family.

Yeah, I don't think it would work with 11. LOL As far as the dog door, I have never had anything come through it. I guess they smell the dogs or have been scared out of the territory. My pack caught and killed "2" wood chucks this summer. Nothing comes near this yard anymore.

I can see me taking the papertowel outside with the puppies and they would eat it. I know what you are saying, that;s the way to do it if you have one. I would wake up every morning and before Mindy Lou's feet ever hit the floor, I picked her up and went outside and every few hours I took her out again. Then we had it. I don't have a doggie door, I would have skunks, possums, raccoons you name it. I wish.

Maybe a belly band. At least that would catch some of it. That's what I thought I was in for when this baby arrived when it was supposed to be a 14 month old doodle. It does sound like excitement pee. I know when I am home, Flynn is never in the crate but I make him come every 20 minutes to out to the yard. Even if he's sleeping. That's how I train them so fast. Plus, whenever he had an accident, I wiped it up and carried him and the paper towel out to the yard and leave it there for a day or two until he got the message. He's never crated when I'm home. I like to break them from the crate fast.

For chewing I have a bunch of those knoted rope things and I think they work the best because it's knobby, different textures and can be wet and frozen, too. They can play tug with them and chew to their hearts content.

You should start a blog too. LOL

Oh and four are parti merles. Sorry lost count. Ha Ha . They all came out of a 12 pounder. Go figure. I delivered them and they just kept coming and coming. I was praying please stop now, didn't help. 9 hours to deliver all. I was so tired.

Sounds like submissive peeing. You have to try to ignore him until you get him outside. I have a male like that and we have come along way.

I can't get them to stay still long enough. I have been trying for weeks now. I will get one up soon. Five are merles and two are black.

11 puppies? you may as well have 101 !! wow, my hat is off to you! That is great, Patricia!
Lynn, thnx for the updates; I'm glad he is doing so well.
I also have to say, I'm glad I am not alone. I'm fostering a mixed lab pupppy and he is a CHEWER , at the graduate level, and I am so sick of watching him every single minute he is out of his crate. It was much easier to foster pups when my kids were living home. Teens who rebel at everything work/chore-related will always fall prey to the whims of a playful pup! It helps so much to have another set of hands and eyes, when it comes to housebreaking, chew redirecting, basic obedience, etc.
Now he has started spraying peepee when he sees me, he is so excited to see me after I have been out of the house for an hour or so... Suggestions? I take him out right before I leave, the older dogs accompany me as I approach the back door, pup's crate is near the back kitchen door so he has quick access... he cannot be ''that full'', can he? I think it is excitement peeing. : ( I don't know what to do. I have been ignoring it thus far. It is intermittently occurring.

I think I need a bigger house. I couldn't let them die. I have fallen in love with Mama Emmie. She is a 12 lb cockapoo, blue merle, Sweet and babies are too. How many can you hold at once? I'm getting to be a pro.
