I am truly...TRULY, COMPLETELY APPALLED by some of the discussions that I am reading lately in OTHER DOODLE FORUMS posted by one COMPLETE IDIOT after the other!.....

I REALLY want to know!...... Who are the breeders that are selling these people doodle puppies????? Who are THE BREEDERS giving their "precious babies" to people who obviously have absolutely no business owning a dog never mind a high maintenance doodle?

This post in particular killed me....

"I just bought my puppy yesterday and brought her home, and by night of course I put her in the crate, and omg did she scream! She probably screamed, howled, and cried for 2 hours straight, and normally I wouldn't care but it turns out my roommate has a psychological problem with crying puppies. His family abused them when he was young I guess, so when he hears a dog cry he gets emotionally upset. Anyway, I did everything, I tried to tire her out before bed, I put in blankets, I put in a warming thing, I put in a toy with mom's scent, I played some piano music, I covered the crate with a towel, and NOTHING worked. I expected her to cry, but not scream bloody murder till 2 am. I dont know what to do! I have to make her stop crying before my roommate goes completely insane!"

Who had the AUDACITY to SELL this puppy to a 22 year old single girl who lives in an apartment building with roommates who according to her post after having the puppy for ONE DAY!??!!!!??!..."can't take the puppy crying?!!???!!" DON"T WE ASSUME AND EXPECT THAT THIS WILL HAPPEN WHEN WE GET A NEW PUPPY???? ISN'T IT ASSUMED WHEN WE BUY OR ADOPT A PUPPY THAT THIS IS COMPLETELY NORMAL BEHAVIOR THAT SIMPLY REQUIRES PATIENCE ESPECIALLY WITH A BABY WHO WAS JUST RIPPED AWAY FROM IT"S MOTHER, SIBLINGS AND THE ONLY HOME IT'S EVER KNOWN, SHOVED IN A CRATE AND PUT IN THE CARGO HOLD OF AN AIRPLANE FOR HOURS???!!!???!????

Who is the breeder who is about to SELL a 3 year old doodle returned to her by a "customer" who no longer has time to devote to the dog..(don't even get me started on that one!) to a man who's wife just had twins and who according to his post, "works constantly , travels for his job" and wants to know "Can you train a dog to wait to go to the bathroom in the morning if you want to sleep late?" WHAT IS THIS BREEDER THINKING?!!??? Giving a 3 year old dog that will obviously be in some distress to a family with 4 month old TWINS??????...Don't they have ENOUGH on their plates without subjecting an innocent dog to their chaotic household???!!???I'll tell you what these breeders are thinking ..MONEY, MONEY MONEY!!!...That's IT!!....That's why they are in the doodle breeding business to begin with!

What KIND OF MORON ( the same moron with the roomate by the way) puts a BARK COLLAR on a 12 WEEK OLD PUPPY??!!!????

"Anyone ever use a Bark collar? Any recomendations? I am considering using one on my 12 week old puppy that is very loud."

Wonder why there are so many doodles in rescue and in shelters?......THIS IS WHY!!!....THIS IS WHAT WE ARE DEALING WITH PEOPLE!!!....One unscrupoulous breeder after another, selling and shipping puppies to one IDIOT after another without ANY screening or consideration of their character, dog experience, living conditions, environment or level of committment ........and I hate to say it but they are ALL on DK!!...Feel like throwing up your dinner??.....In the mood to have a good cry???......Go over there and check out the forum!....

After discussing this with Karen tonight and agreeing that it's heartbreaking to say the least, I just had to rant.....

I saw those discussion and wondered myself. Another lady wanted a 8 weeks old puppy to go up and down the stairs to go to potty.....
I thought that it was really sad that some people have such unrealistic expectation for the puppies / dogs.
Then I thought these may be jokes / prank postings to get people started.

But the sad thing is that, I think they were serious inqiries.....
I think one of the persons who posted them is a teacher....

Boy, I guess I can never go to bed. Why do you guys have a good, juicy discussion when I have to go to bed?

I have been crazed by some people too. I guess I never realized how dopey people can be. Where's the common sense? Putting a Bark Collar on a 12 week old puppy who is crying in his crate...DUH? Go pick him up, maybe cuddle him.

Stairs? How do I get my puppy to go down the stairs? Teach him, maybe.

You are all right, and I am sorry I missed the whole discussion. Sometimes it helps to vent.

So - Teddy did this too until the trash went to its permanent home on top of toilet tank! We are on septic - so can't flush these down - I agree - YUCK. A while back on DK there was a discussion about disgusting things their doodles ate - I couldn't even mention this one - too disgusting - so I'm glad you did!
I read that, and I really had to walk away from the computer. I cringe when I read this kind of crap. I get into it all the time on forums with people who offer their favorite method for hurting the dog in order to train it. What bothers me the most is the ones who go on and on about the 'alpha dog' theories and talk about how Cesar Milan 'saves' these dogs.. Give me a break, Cesar Milan pokes those dogs, kicks them and propeller's them on a leash. If you did that to me, then put me on a treadmill for an hour - heck I would do what you wanted too...well at least until you turned your back on me lol. I try very patiently to explain the principles of positive dog training and I have had some of these people cuss at me and others shout at me: "YOU ARE JUST JEALOUS!!!" /boggle
Hello I'm new to this site, Iv'e been searching for a Goldendoodle. I'm reading your post's and can't believe it.. Here I'm searching to find A doodle to nurture and love and this is how people treat these dogs. I geuss you know there is heartless people out ther but, reading it really hits home. I would love to give a Goldendoodle a loving home, in exchange for their heart and undying affection.
I am ready able and willing to take care of a new furry, family member. I live at the Jersey Shore. I fell in love with one in Maryland but they said I lived to far to adopt him because they wanted to inspect my home. I understand that, another doodle I found, they said wasn't good with kids. I'ts harder than I thought to find a Doodle for my family.
Hi Nicole, this discussion is about another social site that we frequent and attempt to educate people on treating dogs. Many times we read about how others treat their dogs or training methods which are old fashioned and outdated. We try to teach and educate but sometimes it is not taken very well. Some people have ideas that seem outlandish to many of us.

This other site also has many breeders on it who are questionable at best. We tend to get into arguments with some of them who do not act in the best interests of the dogs or the families. None of those kinds of breeders are allowed here. Our focus is on rescue dogs from shelters and kill situations. Many times we believe those same breeders are the one's who dropped the dogs off at shelters.

It is difficult for us not to speak up and "out" these people and it has caused animosity at times on the other site. For someone just coming in, I didn't want you to think this would ever be allowed on The DRRC. We have already banned one breeder who came on here to bash us. Our focus on The DRRC is to help dogs find homes.

I also live at the Jersey Shore and would love to help you find YOUR doodle. I sent you a message on your page about this. Many people have found their doodle through our efforts here. Contact me and I will do all I can for you also: lynne_fowler@yahoo.com.
There is a big bru-ha-ha going on in The RM Chit Chat WebAp about breeding and other shenanigans. Several comments seem vaguely familiar in tone. I don't understand why some people seem to have no life but to go onto various social forums and complain about everything. At least we, who seem to have no life and spend so much time in the computer universe, put our time to good use (I think we try, anyway). If some people would spend 1/4 of their time for good, rather than bashing other's decision, maybe this world would be a better place.
I can't even tell you how many times we have had these types of discussions on there. We have been on there since the beginning and there are some people over there who have been on for awhile who still make those kinds of comments. Jac, Karen and I get a bad rap because we won't sit back, we engage them. The breeders will post litters disguised as a story and they are allowed to do it. We get involved in discussions that people are really saying "stupid" things and we get the bad comments. But I figure that's fine. As long as it makes someone think twice about hitting a dog or pushing their nose in "it" or think twice about using a certain breeder, whatever. We left there because of many reasons that I'll tell you about sometime. But the final straw was when we were being told how to rescue dogs by people who had no clue. We are all volunteers and are pretty proud of what we do. If someone doesn't like that, oh well.
