Hey - I didn't mention it was the first week of school! Whew! Sorry I haven't gotten back to you Sara! You are pretty close to the top of my things to do list. :)
Wow, Kim! Sounds like you have had a lot going on! Great job on rehoming these surrenders. Hope you can relax this weekend!

She actually was really happy with the outcome because she loved her enough to give her up for a better life. The new owners actually offered to give her updates, so I think that was very fortuitous. I had another owner-surrender this week where an older lady had gotten George, who was quite a hit on the application front. She didn't realize that a puppy could grow into a larger puppy and she wasn't able to reinforce his training (that she paid a LOT of money for). She was afraid he would jump up and knock her down. Plus she couldn't handle him on a leash although he responded beautifully on heel with a little tougher love, so she couldn't walk him as much as he needed.
I've rehomed three doodles in the last five days and they have all ended up being really happy endings, but I'll tell you I need a break (a day or two!) from the crying owner surrenders. The right choices, both times, but exhausting! :)
Kim, I read her story. I know the story had a happy ending, but I feel so sad for her former owners. They must miss her so much.

Adorable, too! She was the second doodle I found a home for. There is a nice write-up about how she was an owner-surrender due to economic reasons under Happy Tails.
