Coming together to make a Difference in Animal Rescue

A message to all members of Rescue Collective

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. Too much heat and not enough rain, here in NJ.

For those of you who have not stopped by to check out the "new" Rescue Collective yet, you should come see us now.

We have divided the Rescue Me dog listings into just 5 regions, to make your search easier. For those of you in the Southeast Region, stop in to see the gorgeous dogs Susan has listed, who are looking for their Forever Homes. Don't forget to join the Group, then click on "Follow" in the Rescue Me listings, to get an email every time she updates the listings.

We are still looking for Administrators to watch The Canadian and The Western Regions and Deb has volunteered to keep her eye onThe Midwest Rescue Me Listings. She has also posted some beautiful dogs seeking homes. Here too, don't forget to join the Group, then click on "Follow" in the Rescue Me listings, to get an email every time she updates the listings.

I will be doing The Northeast listings and here again, you need to join then click "follow, to get update emails.

To get an email notice when ANY of the listings are updated, you must be a member of that regional group and then click the "follow" button on the listing(s) you want to follow. The same with a Discussion. There is a "follow" button in every discussion.

If you have a behavior issue, don't be afraid to let other's help you get through it.
Join DISCUSSING BEHAVIOR ISSUES and we will figure it out, together.

We know that many people are not looking to adopt a dog during the summer months because of vacations and other commitments, but summer is actually the best time to get a new canine family member. It is much easier to house train during the summer, the kids are home to help and many people love to go for long walks in the evenings after the heat of the day goes down, just perfect for a new dog. The summer is also the best time to save a life in danger. Shelters around the country are full to the brim. Kill shelters put down dogs by the hundreds everyday throughout the summer months because there just isn't enough room. So, please consider adopting a shelter dog, now.

I really want to Thank so many of you who have chosen to stick with us as we re-organize and move on. The Rescue Collective is still under re-construction and if there is a resource you would like to see included or idea an you have or something you would like to run yourself, please send a note to rescuecollective@gmail.com.

Please enjoy the rest of your summer and come be a part of The Collective.
