An Upcoming Movie Exploiting the Food Industry

* By Susan Thixton

Food, Inc. will be released in June to limited theaters; it tells the truth about our nation’s food. Watch this interesting movie trailer, and then imagine the condition of pet food.

From the website www.foodincmovie.com, “In Food, Inc., filmmaker Robert Kenner lifts the veil on our nation's food industry, exposing the highly mechanized underbelly that has been hidden from the American consumer with the consent of our government's regulatory agencies, USDA and FDA. Our nation's food supply is now controlled by a handful of corporations that often put profit ahead of consumer health, the livelihood of the American farmer, the safety of workers and our own environment. We have bigger-breasted chickens, the perfect pork chop, insecticide-resistant soybean seeds, even tomatoes that won't go bad, but we also have new strains of E. coli—the harmful bacteria that causes illness for an estimated 73,000 Americans annually. We are riddled with widespread obesity, particularly among children, and an epidemic level of diabetes among adults.”

Now, imagine the quality of nutrition provided to millions of dogs and cats from pet foods that use the rejects of human food processing. The absolute worst of the worst (diseased animals, drug filled animals, euthanized animals AND the lethal drug) – despite Federal Law that should prohibit it, are re-packaged into dog foods and cat foods; sold to millions of un-knowing pet owners every single day. It’s disgusting.

There ARE pet foods out there that use ONLY the finest of ingredients – free
of by-products and risky drugs. Ask questions. Demand the pet food manufacturer provide proof of quality. Our support of ONLY these higher quality pet food manufacturers can change the pet food industry in the same way the Food Inc. movie trailer explains.

I saw Food Inc., and HIGHLY recommend it.
I wanted to but when it came near here, I had to go to something at my son's school. I should see if it's on video yet.
I'm pretty sure it is, because I watched it on a DVD at home.
ooh, good to know, going to Amazon now.
