Meet Snickers - ADOPTED

Snickers, is approx. a year old and still very puppyish.  We were told she was born sometime in December.

I am not sure if the dog is good with cats, but she did stay with a petsitter who had three cats and she was loose with them, but I noticed the cats did not come close enough to find out, I do know that she is not good with chickens and has killed 2 of our chickens and injured another.

Snickers is good with our four children aged 3, 8, 11, and 15, but still tries to jump.  She doesn't do that with the 3 year old just the others.  She just licks the 3 year old so much that we have to rescue him.

Regarding leash walking she tends to pull you on the walks.  She is crate trained and does not potty in her crate.  Unfortunately, we have not been able to keep her out of her crate unless she is outside and then we have to lock of the chickens which are normally free range.  The reason is we have two small dogs and she has injured them as she is large and steps on them.  If I let her out, then I have to lock up the other little dogs so she doesn't break a bone.

Snickers is spayed and received her final puppy shots over the summer and is up to date.  Those records will be available. Her medical condition is a healthy close to one year old dog.  She is approx. 70 pounds.

Snickers will need training to learn how to have proper manners and a lot of room to run and play so she can use up her energies. A fully fenced yard will be the best for Snickers and an active lifestyle is preferable. Older children and no small animals are also a plus.

Rehome Fee $375

If you are interested in Snickers, please fill out an online application and if you are a match, it will be forwarded to the family.

Reason(s) for rehome:  My 15 year old daughter purchased the dog with her birthday money on the Internet.  She didn't realize the dog was going to be this big.  She thought she would be 1/2 the size and has lost interest.  I am now the one feeding and caring for the dog; however I have had health problems relating to neck and spine and foot and cannot handle her size.  Although we have tried to work it out, I feel bad the dog is in a cage way too much because of the other animals.
