Meet Trooper!--

Trooper Now!

Trooper is a sweet 3 year old F1B Labradoodle pulled from an animal control facility in PA. He was an owner surrender due to lack of time and was so severely matted that we had to rush him to the wonderful vets at the PSPCA for an emergency "shave down. (THANK YOU PSPCA!)

Poor Trooper was in such bad shape that he had to be sedated for the 4 hours that it took to rid him of this knotted, tangled, twisted mess that was restricting his movement and his ability to eat and defecate.

Beneath the extra 7 lbs. of matted hair we found a gorgeous, loving, sweet dog that was so grateful to be released from this torture! He was such a 'trooper" through the whole process that it seemed only fitting that we give him his name.

Trooper is 50 lbs. and once he grows in, will have a gorgeous soft fleece/wool coat that will require grooming. He is a big sweetie and just wants love from everyone. We are just starting to see more of his true personality and little by little he is coming out of his shell.

We discovered that his former owners kept him crated almost all of the time and poor Trooper is suffering from some muscle atrophy in his hind legs because of his lack of exercise. As a result the poor boy was walking in a hunched over position when he first arrived. We are happy to report that he is building muscle, beginning to happily prance around the yard in true doodle fashion and he is expected to make a full recovery.

Trooper will need some help and patience with his house training, but seems to be catching on at his foster home. He is good with children and other dogs and seems to be good with cats.

After all that he has been through, this boy deserves nothing less than the most incredible loving home. Trooper is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations and will make a wonderful family pet.
A physical fence is required if you have children under the age of 12.

Trooper was a gem to have as a foster. He gave us absolutely no trouble at all and as the time progressed he began to walk better and grow stronger. He was adopted by members Jim and Roe.

These are pictures of Trooper from the shelter:

How sad is that?
