Finn is a perfect foster. Quiet, shy, reserved. Never a mess in the house, always looking for a cuddle. He is so perfect, that my whole family and everyone he meets falls in love with him.
But Finny isn't perfect. He is a survivor of Almost Heaven (Hell) Kennels in Emmaus, PA. (You know the one that was finally closed down for abusing, mistreating and keeping dogs and other animals in deplorable and disgusting conditions).
Finn is missing his right front leg. He is afraid of loud noises and quick movements. He is leery of men and is careful of everything he does.
Oh, but Finny IS perfect. He has been here just 5 days, but it is like looking at a flower unfurling it's petals. Slowly and day by day, he discovers new things and experiences joy. His eyes are bright, his tail waggles. He runs with my dogs in the backyard and lounges on the couch. He seeks hugs and kisses, loves American cheese and is amazed by constant food and water.
These dogs lived through such terrible conditions, that I don't know many humans could live through, but they are still so willing to give and receive love. If anyone has any doubts as to whether or not they can foster or adopt a shelter or an abused dog, just look at Finn. This is unconditional love.
WE WILL find him a PERFECT forever home. WE WILL find him a home where he will be worshiped and adored. WE WILL cry when he goes, but WE WILL be so happy for him.
He WILL NEVER be hurt again.
(rot in hell Finn's abusers and all who supported him)
