I adopted Sugar just 2 days ago. She is a sweet little maltepoo, listed in the Southeast listings if you want to read her bio. She is very sad after being taken from the only home she's known when her owners went into a nursing home. She has bared her teeth and snapped at me when I tried to wash her face or brush her. I know right now she is skittish and just needs to get to know me but how long do I wait before I try to train her to allow me to wash and brush her? I have never rescued a dog…

That's fantastic that you will be fostering and helping dogs in need.
Please check out the courtesy cross postings of dogs needing homes listed by region on the main page. Good luck in your search, and hopefully you will have a furry doodle friend in no time.
I live in Vero Beach so we are very close! I am sorry for the lose of your lab! That is heartbreaking! We have a 14 year old Dalmatian and know the time will be coming when we lose her, and are really dreading it! I was lucky enough to find a rescue goldendoodle a year ago that was posted here and iDog also helped me adopt him. I am sure if you are patient you will find the right dog for you! Nice to know that your daughter can help with training issues too!
