Well, it's finally happened......after years and years of loving and having animals I FINALLY know what it feels like to have a lapdog. Being a "big dog" lover I have always had large babies and never really experienced a true to form "lapdog" before. Over the years, all of my dogs have been a huge part of my life and heart, and have always been close by me wherever I may have been, but never in my lap......I now have a lapdog, although he's pushing 60 lbs.
I'm not sure if it's the poodle in him or not (and the "why" doesn't really matter) but Marco now not only wants to be close to me, but in my lap most of the time. As I've talked about in previous posts he loves to get in bed and snuggle in the mornings. That has recently expanded to jumping on the couch with his head in my lap in the evenings to inviting himself to join me on our front porch swing or anywhere else I may be sitting.....
Some dog trainers would probably say I'm encouraging bad habits but I say who cares. As long as he's well mannered I just love him feeling so loved and at home.

I hate that the pics Rob took earlier don't reflect how really relaxed Marco normally is around us and while he's in my lap. For whatever reason, he absolutely HATES the camera and becomes frightened and freezes the moment he sees it. Regardless, I just had to share them.
