If you have volunteered to Foster, Adopt, make phone calls, check references or Transport for our Doodle Train, please go to the following link to copy, fill out and return the application. Thank you! We are all volunteers and work together to improve the lives of Rescue Doodles.
Not to worry, Gene is our hero here on the DRRC and we fully plan to support him as he has us. Jacquie and I don't have tons of time as we are doing this, but Karen is our mouthpiece, if you will. She has the biggest heart and likes to talk to a lot of people, but we will be there. Thanks for your support here, too.
Many things have surprised us in the past few weeks. I always thought everyone who loved dogs also loved rescue. I guess not. I always thought a volunteer would be welcomed in any capacity. I guess not. We all need to do what is best for us and the one's we love. AND don't ever let anyone put you down for what you do. You have every right to be proud of yourself. YOU are saving a life or two.
Can other's say the same? We can and we will make a difference in doodle rescue in spite of what other's may say or even deny knowledge of our existence. I believe one dog saved is better than doing nothing. We are slowly growing AND doing what some may believed we wouldn't so, we take the high road and move on. Sad for them! Like I said, you can rail against breeders or shelters or anyone you want to here. I fact, we encourage it. That's why we left DoodleKisses. Too many breeders, too many "sad stories." Maybe if they knew what they were really doing instead of burying their heads in the sand, we wouldn't be seeing so many doodles in shelters. But that's my soap box. Yours is welcome here, always.
Congratulations on the puppies and you always have a home here, too. We are proud to have you discuss any aspect of rescue with us and will support you to the hilt. If we can do anything to help, please let us know. We here heard about the meltdown on the other forum, too, and I just wanted to give our support and voice to you here too. Kiss a fuzzy puppy nose for us!
I'm not into the kibble either, I homecook. But I like to keep up on all that stuff since my dog died of the 2007 recalls. I feed some raw so I have taken the plunge somewhat. Many people ask me about food so I need to know that stuff. I have converted many people to make their own food so kibble is not a big topic for me either.
I don't know why, but the Foster Group is not listed on your group list to the left of this box. Did you click on "Join" when you went into the group? It is near the top. And you have to go into the Discussions "View All" feature and click on "Notify" if you want to recieve notice of new topics. That's one of the features I don't like. I am hoping Gene will take over the Foster Group, eventually.
Heather, come join some groups! The Food Group has tons of info on feeding our doods and The Foster Group would be a place you can tell your foster stories. Don't forget to click on "Follow" on the discussions pages if you want to get an e-mail when there's any new posts.
