We would have no problem at all. Would she be okay alone for a couple of hours at a time? We do have some football committments.(friday night only, maybe 3 hours) We will have our doodle here to keep her company. Let me know what you think. We would love to help out.
I am looking for a golden doodle. I would love creme or red -young, but doesn't have to be a pup. Since you are also in the Austin area, if you come across one will you please let me know. I check several times a day and just can't find one. I would drive up to 10-12 hours to pick the doodle up. Thanks in advance for any help you can give. Phyllis
Sara,
I am not sure how much resuceing goes on in this area, but if you ever need any help please let me know. I can't bare the thought of any dog getting put to sleep.
Sara, thanks. I am also interesting in adopting, but i'm the same as you with allergies. No shedding. My goldendoodle doesn't shed or smell, she is amazing!! Good luck with MEG, i will check with all my friends.
Sara ... Lynne says its a Poodle/Schnauzer - don't think so ... here's the link ... go to page 4 ... www.gptx.org/paws click on adoptable and stray pets then go to dogs - all ...

Ironically, my husband got the lady's name for me last night while I was at work! I am going to call her in a few and let you know. But...I am receiving a foster tomorrow, possibly going to pick one up from a shelter today, and then there is the neighbor dog. How do you feel about a drive to Dallas this weekend??? :)
If coming all the way to Dallas is too much, could you meet me somewhere? I have to go 2 1/2 hours each way to get the one out of the shelter today so I am trying not to drive all weekend, but it is part of my "job"!!!
Will update you soon on just how many dogs my yard can hold!
Kim
Sara!
I'm so sorry! I thought she forwarded it to me so that I would have it. I didn't realize I was supposed to follow through with it!
Of course you are approved.Your willingness to help and being a member first, getting educated on what it takes to take care of a dog, and wanting to know the experience of having a dog before adopting one makes you the perfect candidate.
I have two that I am trying to get this next week from El Paso. They are definitely coming to me, but I am not sure if it is by plane or another type of cargo situation. One is a six month old puppy and one is the adult father of it. Full-size standard, so probably 55-60 pounds.
Let me know more specifically what you are up for as far as fostering. As with placement, I want to make sure that you, as a foster (when there are choices) are happy with the situation in which you are put. For example, would you rather host a puppy or an adult dog? I can't give you a size preference because all we have right now are the standards. (I am actually looking for a mid-size for a family that is willing to adopt right away if I can find them the right one. They just want something not too tall!) I can tell you that my dog, Indy, is a standard and he navigates the house, with three children (7, 9 and 12) and one other dog (15) well. Of course he did have an advantage of my training.... :)
I found out just this morning from my husband that my neighbor mentioned that two streets over from my own house was someone who was trying to find a home for a goldendoodle! My husband asked my neighbor to have them contact me, but we are at our place in east Texas and it is driving me insane!
So....the point of my rambling is that by the end of this next week I hope to have three doodles and would love for you to foster one. I will at least have an adult and a puppy. I think I have someone interested in the adult, because he has asked repeatedly if he is in Dallas yet, but I don't know for sure. I think he lives in an apartment and he is single (recently divorced). I love him to death, but with his current lifestyle, probably wouldn't think he was the best candidate for a full-time dog commitment. The dog's name, btw, is Daniel Boone. I just love that.
Anyway, please feel free to email me at kkonradi@dallsnews.com or call me at home 214-827-1557 or cell 214-549-4606 any time. Sorry that this comment is the length of a short novella, but WELCOME!!! You have been admitted into fosterhood!!! :)
The dogs in the listings are on Petfinder or other listing service. You would have to fill in the application with the dog. You can fill out an IDOG app, the link is under our Foster App link on the bottom here. Jeannine put it in the Welcome Message. That would have you ready to adopt and it is cross honored for us. Again, Thanks and welcome aboard.
