I don't know how many of you know this, but my husband has been on kidney dialysis for 3 years and the kidney transplant list for 4 years. I have not felt good (allergies) for the last couple of days and stayed home from work yesterday. At 8:30am I was on the phone with the skilled care nursing home my father was in when the call waiting beeped. Then my husbands cell rang and then the call waiting beeped again and then my cell rang! I yelled for Ron to check his message, because there had to be something wrong! It was a message from Mayo Clinic in Phoenix that said "Ron, we have a kidney for you. Call us immediately!" Ron called and they said get here asap! We arrived at the hospital at 9:30, but the kidney didn't arrive till 4:00pm. Surgery started at 5:00 and finished at 7:30, and he came out of recovery at 11:30pm. The kidney is functioning good now. I got home at 1:00 this morning. I am on the way back now. I wanted to share with my DK family!

Best of everything to you and your husband. There is a universal energy that takes care of everything. And nothing like wonderful warm doodle kisses to make things feel just fine, too. Congratulations on the road to healing.

Susan - I'm so happy for you and Ron and that it went well. I hope Mateo joins your family soon!

I hope tomorrow will finally be the day he comes home. The kidney was a little sluggish, but I am glad they are cautious! Thanks for all the prayers and good wishes!

Thank you all so much! He is doing fantastic! They say he may come home by Sunday afternoon! One thing they told him was that he couldn't handle dog poo. No more Poo Patrol for him for awhile! I told him he bribed them to say that ...LOL. He has a bunch of pills to take but it so much better than dialysis!
