I was updating the posts for the Northwest, and found an "Urgent" post from October 31st was recently updated to 'pending'.  Here is the dogs photo from October 31st.  Apparently matted so badly the poor guy had to be shaved down.  He doesn't look his best and looks worried.

Here is his updated pending photo.  Amazing what some love and care will do, not to mention a nice haircut :)  He looks so happy.

Hope this made you smile too.

It is when you start to see the joy and happiness and, even more important, the trust and love in the eyes of your rescue dog that you realize you change and save a life and you will be loved forever.

This little sweet guy already have that kind of sparkles in his beautiful eyes and he got a happy smile too! Yes that make me smile, thanks Sue!

So true Lynne.  That was the other part of the reason I posted this - to show that all the dogs are beautiful, even the ones who don't look so great or so "doodley" in their photos.  They just need someone to take the time to care for them and give them love.

This is something we have known for awhile now. When you are looking through the listings and see a matted, dirty sad looking dog, try to look under that hair and dirt and see the dog cleaned up and happy. Every shelter dog is waiting for someone to love him. His shelter picture is terrible. He is waiting in a cage, maybe taken out once or twice a day, for a walk or put in the yard. But he is waiting for his family to find him, to clean him up and love him. Look at the smile on this guys face in the second picture...that tells the story.
