Meet Katie - ADOPTED

Katie is here in NJ to find her

Forever Family. She is sweet and

funny and ready for LOVE!

Such a beautiful, sweet girl, too. About a year old, Katie had some hard knocks but that hasn't jaded her. She is just a happy, playful, snuggly girl.

You're going to have to take the big car for all that.

Yes andy and dandy have appointment on monday for shots and adopted ones have been to vet already. Thanks for the reminder. I'll be taking Pattie (for Ex) to get her on heartworm and flea tick stuff on Monday also. Got a car load going as I'm also taking Molly, Kip for yearly, Py for heatrworm and kitten for checkup

I have Katie's interceptor for tomorrow and her new parents are making an appointment for her when they get back on Tuesday.

The puppies were all due for their third boosters today. you can't be late on those. Otherwise, you have to start all over again.  They will probably want to worm them one last time, and start them on Interceptor as well in one month.

It is a preventative...she is not heartworm positive. I sent her one dose in a zip lock bag with the date she was due for it written on it.  And please let her new family know that they need to keep her on Interceptor. More recently than ever, dogs are showing up heartworm positive. Even those on Heartgard are showing positive. I read that Heartgard is not working...but Interceptor has the best results. Interceptor should take care of any kind of worm, except for tapeworms, of course. Tapeworms are caused by fleas. And it takes a different wormer for those.

Her papers don't say anything about it but that is probably when she is due for it. It is also used as a monthly preventative. That's what my vet uses, too.

Gail, I don't have Katie's records here and it's easier to ask you so do you know why I have interceptor to give Katie on the 16th. I thought that was a heartworm treatment or is it also used as a preventative.

Katie has been adopted by a family with "4" little girls. They are totally and completely in love with this girl and the poor dad will have another girl to love, too. Waiting on pictures but I can imagine Katie playing dress up, wearing ribbons and bows for the rest of her life. Talk about smiling!!!

Don't worry, Gail, she will.
