Meet Eddie and Shirley

This little family will be coming to NJ in the next few weeks and I wanted you to meet them now, as their Virginia foster mom has joined our "Collective" and I wanted a place for her to let us know how they are doing.

They definitely ripped out a little bit of my heart when I put them on the transport van. They were just the happiest babies. Always dancing, twirling in Shirley's case, and constantly entertaining me with their antics. You couldn't be around those two and be sad. They instantly have you in stitches. I do miss them so much.

Rescue Partner Comment by Martha Gail Reece Henehan on May 1, 2011 at 5:08pm: After the Twirley Dance, she should enjoy Eddie dancing backwards as he does the hula. Another fine feature of Eddie, is that he is always the Peacemaker. Whenever anyone, anything is upset, he runs around trying to console...even when everyone is upset, he licks all the faces one after another until they are calmed down. Eddie does not enjoy strife!

But after a few sniff-a-thons, they are romping and playing with Kelly's pack...just like the did here last night. Those two will win over everyone in their path. Shirley did her twirly dance for me this morning and I am waiting for Kelly to tell me she saw it, too.

Rescue Partner Comment by Martha Gail Reece Henehan on May 1, 2011 at 10:48am: Lynne, I bought $50 worth of harnesses just to make sure that I had good fitting ones for them. I had small and large in one brand and found a medium in another brand name. I tried all sizes on each dog and nothing fit them. They were either too small or too big. Back of my van looks like a harness graveyard...packaging and harnesses everywhere, where I was fervently trying to fit them at the last minute. I had had such a rough day at Norton Shelter fighting with the employees to "spring" some doggies, that I completely forgot their harnesses. I usually do better but a combination of old age and exhaustion made me forgetful.
