This little family will be coming to NJ in the next few weeks and I wanted you to meet them now, as their Virginia foster mom has joined our "Collective" and I wanted a place for her to let us know how they are doing.

Meet Eddie

Meet Shirley, Eddie's Mom

We'll be updating as their transport date gets closer. But Gail can keep us posted until then.

Lynne, please forward this message to Meredith. For some reason, my message to her keeps failing.
"Aww...Meredith. I did love my Eddie and Shirley Babs. I used to have time to blog but I am now doing animal rescue full time, and I had no clue how much time was involved. I miss the days that all I had to do was love a couple of dogs and send them on. Now I am buried in paperwork, vetting, pulling pups from the kill shelter.......and a long list that I am too tired to mention. Sending Lynne out 4 more in the morning. If I fall in bed right now, I can grab 3 hours sleep before I hit the road with the pups. Eddie and Babs will always be so special to me because they were number 2 and 3 that I sent to New Jersey. I was missing Dolly so much, and kept staring at her empty crate, so I just filled up the crate, my home and back yard with two little clowns. I would just love to squeeze goofy butt once more...Eddie, and wallow little fat Babs. I miss them so much. I have fostered over 75 pups since those two, but they definitely took a big piece of my heart
when they left me. Thank you for loving them like I did. It warms my heart and keeps me going. I am 60 years old and in poor health. You don't know how much that it means to me to feel like this poor old woman actually made a difference. Your message made me feel worthwhile. I cannot begin to thank you enough."

Tell Merry to give them a hug and kiss from their first Momma who got them off death row at the local dog pound. When I saw them, I couldn't leave that place without them. It would have been such a loss. And my house has never been as lively and entertaining since they departed. Thank Merry for loving them as much as I do!

I just got an update from Shirley (now Babs) and Eddie' new mom:

Dear Lynne & Kelly – I’m sorry I haven’t been in touch. I kept telling myself to send off an email, but just never got to it. Guess I’ve just been busy LOVING our new dogs! Babs and Eddie are doing really well. Babs’ hesitation to eat only lasted a day or two. The potty training is also going very well, but there is an occasional mess to clean up and of course if I don’t witness it, I can’t be certain which dog is the culprit. But I can say that Eddie has gotten pretty good at going in our yard. Babs is definitely more finicky about finding just the right spot. She prefers to go when we’re out for a walk. Both dogs really like taking walks. Babs struts her stuff and at a quick pace! Trying to get her to stop pulling on the leash so much. Eddie is a little more relaxed and does pretty well on the leash. We’ve been to the dog park in town and also have quite a few dogs in our neighborhood. Babs and Eddie have been meeting lots of new friends and are pretty well behaved around them. Both got summer haircuts – our neighbor is a mobile groomer! In Bab’s picture she still had a bow in her hair from the groomer, but got rid of it about 3 minutes later. I realized Eddie is a skinny little boy after his haircut!

They are so adorable together and clearly love each other. They get jealous of one another if one is getting hugs and love and poke their nose in to share the affection. They play with each other all day long, wrestling and playing with a toy which eventually gets destroyed. They rest and sleep curled up together. Just beautiful! They are not as good at playing with Bob yet, as I. Babs will chase a ball, but won’t bring it to us although we are working on that and she dominates that game not letting Eddie have a chance at the chase. Still, they have been well behaved in the house despite a little roughhousing, hardly any begging and we are trying hard to keep consistent.

I know the pictures aren’t great, but they get awfully excited and can’t sit still when the camera is out! Hard to get a good picture. You can always zoom in to see them a little better.

Thanks for checking in with us.

They are not doodles, but just the cutest and sweetest little things. We have had them to many adoption events and no one seems interested, poor little things.  They have been in the Wise general population lot for months.  At first they were strays, picked up on the side of the road at an area housing project. Then spent over a month in the Dog Pound. Then a couple of weeks being boarded at my Vet. Need a home badly.  They are fluffy little Corgi mixes. I will post pictures on my blog.

I will. No I haven't heard from Carla. Who's Nikki and Noodle? Do you have a link?

Oh, Lynne. How wonderful. Please give their new family my email address and perhaps they will send me pictures and thoughts along the way. Did Carla ever get with you re: Nikki and Noodle?

Gail, This is why i always hesitate to foster...  I was supposed to foster, that is what I told my hubby, but we all know I was going to adopt(!), that baby is still here and will not go anywhere soon!! I know that I will get attached very fast but I can't afford another dog in this house. (We have two + 3 cats!) I just need one or two million so we could afford a little farm and more babies...

I admire so much what you and Lynne and all the foster Moms are doing for those sweet pups. In my opinion you are angels. Love, J. xo

They are having a blast at Kelly's house, too. She fosters kittens and they love playing with them. Maybe because they are smaller. Kelly said they make her smile and laugh every minute, also. I love the new pics she took.
