This little family will be coming to NJ in the next few weeks and I wanted you to meet them now, as their Virginia foster mom has joined our "Collective" and I wanted a place for her to let us know how they are doing.

Meet Eddie

Meet Shirley, Eddie's Mom

We'll be updating as their transport date gets closer. But Gail can keep us posted until then.

I can't wait to meet them tonight, myself. We have waited so long for them and are all very excited. I will be picking them up myself and they will stay at my house tonight and then go to their foster, Kelly, tomorrow. Kelly is busy with her thespian duties, tonight. Don't worry, Gail, we will take great care of them and find them the perfect forever home. Sending big hugs to you, from all of us.

Good morning, Lynn.  Nother bittersweet parting....my babies left this morning headed your way. I searched in vain for proper fitting harnesses and none were available so please notify the transport people to be very careful when walking them.  I noticed that their weights weren't correct on Petfinder. Shirley is very itty bitty and weighs only 12 pounds or less. Eddie weighed in at 9 pounds last time he was weighed, but has grown a bit since and probably weighs 10 pounds now. Shirley is smaller but is a little fatty. Both of them were Vet checked 4 days ago prior to this trip. Shirley's little eye has appeared irritated. The vet checked it and said it was okay, but I put some triple antibiotic ointment on it before she left so her eye might appear greasy. The main thing that I need to say about these two are that they are just the happiest little dogs. They absorb every bit of attention that you care to give them.  They will steal the heart of their foster.  Even my brother, who swears that he doesn't like dogs, was all bummed out this morning when they left. Tell the foster that Eddie is going to be timid and standoffish, but will come around when he sees his Momma soaking up all of the attention. Both are very housebroken and crate trained. I even had them trained to come inside from the back yard and to go to the crate independently...with a little piece of a wiener treat afterwards, of course. They will do anything you want for a treat! Eddie loves attention but it takes him a while to respond.  He kind of sits back and watches what goes on with Momma before he gives in.  Both of them love attention and loving. Let me know when they get there.  I am overly worried about those crappy harnesses and hope they don't get away.  Shirley always minded me and came back to me and Eddie would when he saw his Mom was okay with it. Sitting on pins and needles hoping they arrive safe and soundly.

Wait until you get my next "two bundles of joy!" They are wild, but coming right along. Very house trained and crate trained so far. Good luck with the leash with these two "circus babies." I now call Shirley "Twirley Shirley." She cannot walk in a straight line.  She must twirl as she goes....and I must say that this does nothing for my vertigo.  LOL She can also walk on her back feet and twirl. And shy little Eddie is still shy, but in such a good way.  He is very respectful, very quiet, but quite the comedian himself. He can run backwards on two feet. And those ears.  He has the most expressive ears.  You have heard of wearing your feelings on your shirt sleeve...well, Eddie, wears his feelings on his ears. He has different ears for different moods. Hard to explain, but you will see what I mean when he gets there. Shirley takes care of all his discipline and makes sure he stays in line. He doesn't care.  He just outruns his fat little Mommy. Eddie is nearly 4 months old now and literally foot loose and fancy free. By literally, you have to see his "happy feet." More to come.
