Meet Bogo- Now Named Joey, saved from MDAS, FL - ADOPTED
Bogo is a sweet, sad Doodle boy who was pulled from a high kill shelter in Miami, FL. Bogo was injured and alone, with no-one to help him.
Not one rescue was stepping up for him after days of crossposting him on Facebook.
Not one person cared about "just another unwanted black dog" in a kill shelter.
No one saw under all that hair, past his injured leg or looked into his sad eyes and saw the sweetness there.
So, a few of us on Facebook, including Oodles of Doodles Rescue Collective and Helpless Furry Hearts Rescue, rallied to get him out of there, get him to a foster, to a groomer and to a vet to check him over and get him fixed up.
Bogo looks so different all shaved down but undoubtedly, he feels so much better and his fur will grow back, more beautiful. He had a mild Kennel Cough, a bit of mange that is being treated and an old leg injury and is undergoing surgery today (August 15, 2011) to repair the original break and pins that were done sometime in the past, which will allow the leg to heal properly.
In spite of all this, Bogo is a sweet, playful boy and will be a wonderful, loving family member. He gets along with dogs and cats, and is wonderful with kids. He is happy-go-lucky and is doing very well in his foster home. Bogo will be available for adoption in Florida in the coming weeks and if you live in South Florida, have a FULLY FENCED (PHYSICAL) YARD and would be interested in adopting Bogo, please fill out an online application: http://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/4L4rbUH08f75DP3v. NOTE: He will not be ready to go home for a few weeks
If you can spare a few dollars to help us pay for his surgery, it would be so very much appreciated. We have set up a chip-in specifically for Bogo:

Wonderful news! Thank you Lisa and have a wonderful life together with sweet Murphy!
Bogo was renamed Joey and is now adopted and Forever renamed, Murphy. WooHoo! Thank you Lisa for giving this beautiful boy a new life.
Thank you Chris of Helpless Furry Hearts Rescue for fostering him and seeing his through his surgery and healing.
Thank you everyone who donated to help us pay for his surgery. It really does take a village.....
Here's his HFHR Adopt-a-Pet Listing: http://www.adoptapet.com/pet6018564.html
Bogo, now named Joey is already up for adoption and is listed with both rescues. Our Petfinder is is: http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/20602582?rvp=1
We do not know his exact age. The vet said between 1 and 2.
All applications, whether ours or theirs will be going to Chrissy of HFHR who as his foster mom will make all the decisions as to who adopts him. This is the same with all our fosters, who are considered partners and have the final say in who adopts the dogs in their care.
Both rescues are involved and cooperated in the pulling, vetting and seeing this former death row dog has a beautiful, happy life.
I see that if someone is interested in Bogo that the Helpless Furry Hearts Rescue in FL has him listed as Joey and they say he is 1 year old. Any idea when he will be possibly up for adoption and is the adoption through Oodles of Doodles or them?
Bogo is out of surgery and in recovery. Orthopedic Vet says it should heal fine. Thank you to all who are sending their healing thoughts his way and to all those who are donating to help us pay for this. You are all Rescue Angels.
