Guess who's coming to NJ?

Surrendered to a kill shelter down South, Dolly is a sweet.......

What breed do you think she is?

Dolly is a gorgeous Itty Bitty who found herself in a Southern Kill Shelter and was rescued and was transported to NJ. Dolly is very sweet and is a little shy at first, but warms up and trusts quickly. She is only about 15 pounds and we would prefer a home without small children and a physical fence. Dolly is being fostered in Toms River, NJ, and her foster mom says she is near perfect. If you are interested in adopting Dolly and giving her a Forever Home, please send an application.

Lisa just sent me a couple pics and a note:

Hi Lynn,

Dolly is great . She seems to be adjusting nicely- slept all night on a chair in the living room and then ate and drank this morning after spending time in the yard with  Eddie and Chico. She is extremely sweet and very well house broken. I will keep you posted. we are enjoying her...

Hi Lisa, Thank you so much for loving and caring for Dolly. I wish so much that I could have kept her for my own but I knew that with my deteriorating health, it was best that she find a home with a young and active family, even though Dolly is content with whatever you have to offer as long as you love her. Yes, she loves that little bed.  If you have to take her anywhere in the car, take her bed, and she will ride quietly in it. I didn't have her long enough for her to totally get used to car rides, so the bed helps. She is due for Interceptor soon.  Please keep her on Interceptor monthly as my vet told me that coming from Norton Shelter, she was probably exposed to every worm in history, from his experience with that place. Plus she didn't get very good care from her previous owners, and was bred more than once at a very young age with no veterinarian care. The only follow up care recommended by her Vet was keep her on Interceptor, not because she has worms, but just because of where she has been and for preventative. She gave birth to a healthy litter of puppies in December even though at that time she had never been to a vet.  Both she and the puppies were dumped off at the Kill Shelter about six weeks ago.  She has suffered some hair loss/thinning due to the stress of pregnancy and what she has been through, but her coat is already looking better. With good food and lots of love, she should have a pretty coat of hair soon. Here I fed her Taste of the Wild Prairie Mix (buffalo and venison, with fruits and veggies, grain free) Dry Food and gave her about 1/3 to 1/2 of a can of Max wet food daily. My Jack Russell has food allergies so I just feed everyone the same. However, I am sure that she will adjust to whatever your boys are used to eating. I sent extra food with her in case that you wanted to introduce her to new food gradually to save on possible digestive issues. I will shut up for now.  Send some pictures and update me on Miss Dolly's activities when you have time.  I sincerely appreciate all that you can do for her. Gail

"Dear Gail,
Thank you so much for the update on Dolly. Please know that she is in a safe place where she will be loved and cherished until she is  adopted. My name is Lisa and I  am her new foster Mom.  She was a little nervous when we first got her but calmed down very quickly. Her canine foster brothers, Chico and Eddie are sleeping at my husband's feet, while Dolly is cuddled fast asleep on his lap. She will sleep tonight in the bed that you sent on my bedroom floor alongside her two foster brothers.  I will keep you updated. Don't worry -she is great!"

Love,

Lisa

Lisa just wrote: "Dolly is settling in nicely. She is very comfortable with my dogs and is very calm. All three are eating right now."

Sounds like Dolly is doing great. We'll get some new pics to put up in the next few days.

Rest assured, Gail, Dolly will never be alone or scared again.

I am sitting here crying my eyes out. I miss her so much! I am just soooo happy that she had such a warm welcome.  She was so guarded when I first brought her home. It warms my heart to hear that she has learned from me to trust and love again. I was truly worried that she would be stand offish and afraid. She's "My Girl" for sure!! Tell Lisa to send me pictures and updates! She will be amazed on a daily basis what a good girl she is. God Bless You All and I Thank You From the Bottom of my Heart! Oh..she needs a bath.  We had horrid weather here the days before she left.  And the day that she left, I let her run all over the yard and play to her heart's content, so she would be tired and be able to sleep on her long journey.

Gail and Everyone, Dolly is now with her new foster mom, Lisa. I just dropped her off and everyone is in love. Lisa got kisses as Dolly came out of the crate. Gail she is absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much for taking such good care of her for us. We will find her the very best Forever Home (if Lisa doesn't wind up keeping her LOL). She was gushing over her. I'll let you know how it goes. I'll start a blog for Eddie and Shirley in a few days and you can update us on them as they get ready to come North. Thank you, again, again and again.
