My cutie pie, new little foster is on the transport from SC. I have gotten a lot of applications this week and I can't wait for him to get here so I can access his personality, give him a good bath and kiss his little doodly nose for the first time.

UPDATE - Hi Lynne! Elmo is GREAT! Yes we did take him to our vet the second day home. They said he is very healthy. He did have a minor yeast infection in his ears and his stool came back positive for coccidia. He has been taking antibiotics and ear drops. He has come completely out of his shell and is super happy all the time. He is affectionate, smart and a total love bug. He has only had one accident in the house. He greets new people with a wagging tail and kisses. Our other dog Patches loves having him around. They are often kissing, playing and lying on the sofa together. They seem to be a perfect match. He is eating well and loves his treats. He has learned how to sit when receiving a treat, and is sleeping thru the night beautifully (in my daughters bed). We have taken many pictures of him. I promise to send some soon. M.

Melissa wrote me yesterday and said they are totally in love with him. Once he got past his newness, she said his tail doesn't stop waggling. They cannot find anything wrong with him. He has not had a single accident in the house and he is in love with them, too. I am so glad it worked out so perfectly.

Thanks Krista. What a sweetie he is and off to a wonderful new life. Fostering, to me, is the most rewarding part of rescue. To see them come scared and shy, then go off with their new family is both sad and joyous. I wish I could have had a little more time with Elmo but it worked out perfectly, as I had a week to go through apps, call references, narrow it down and have his new home picked before he even got here. It was perfect and he was perfect, especially when you consider he was on a euth list a week ago.

He actually had to be shaved down and they said he was so matted, it all came off in one piece like a coat.

What a sweet boy! Not scared, ate, no growleys, did his business outside, got along with all the doggies AND the family simply adore him. He will have an excellent life.
