The DRC is in LANCASTER

Puppy Mill Awareness Day is tomorrow. Dan (my son), Ginger and I arrived about an hour ago. Jacquie and Liz are on their way. We saw about 6 other doggies coming into the hotel. A couple beautiful Afghan Hounds, among them. Our wing of the hotel must be all dogs, because when someone walks past their doors, you can hear barking or sniffing at the bottom of the doors. Of course, Ginger had the say HI to all of them. Blake and Shamus, will be here, too.

More to come....

Feeling frisky

So our house guest was feeling a little smitten with Tessadoodle last night.... as Chris and I were watching t.v. Ramsey tried several attempts to mount her and poor ones at that, Tessa just lay there... chewing her bone and giving him a couple of growls when she'd had enough. It was really funny to watch. He mostly humped the air and would look down at himself wondering what was happening!

For the rest of the night, he was a complete pest, following her around and nibbling her neck.… Continue

A furry guest...

So the dogs are settling into the routine and their new space quite well. They are very curious sniffing every corner and happily playing in the yard. Tessa's favorite thing is to patrol for squirrels and Cody brings all his toys on the grass for Mom and Dad to see.

Our good friend has a 3 yr old black and tan Doberman named Ramsey. He is off traveling for 10 days and we decided to have Rams stay with us instead of being in a kennel. Cody and him are inseperable! Cody will sit and… Continue

Sparky

Hello to all the people who were so supportive of my search for a doodle. Last Thursday I got an email from Cindy of Pregnant Dog Rescue in PA. I had applications for adoption all over the place and she had received a cockapoo from Manhattan. I went to see him and PA and brought him

home. He is the greatest dog, and already a wonderful member of our family.

Marco isn't Skinny Anymore!!!

Hooray!!!! This week it's been 4 months since we adopted Marco. He's such a huge part of our life that it seems like he's been with us much, much longer. He has changed and grown in so many ways that he doesn't even look or act like the same dog. What's really phenomenal is the fact that he's no longer so starved looking. Even when he's wet he looks healthy, no more protruding ribs or back bone....check out the pic I posted and you'll see a nicely rounded tummy on him.…

Sissy aka Summer

We brough Summer home Sunday to her forever home. We are so happy!!! What a wonderful dog she is...very mild mannered....walks loose lead, sleeps next to us and had adjusted to our home and Airedale, Bentley so easily it is hard to think of life without her. To think she was going to be "put down" brings me to tears. Her vet check came back clear. I think I am going to work with her for therapy dog. She is so gentle. I think she knows she is safe now!!
