If you have volunteered to Foster, Adopt, make phone calls, check references or Transport for our Doodle Train, please go to the following link to copy, fill out and return the application. Thank you! We are all volunteers and work together to improve the lives of Rescue Doodles.
Kathryn, , we are trying to put together a group of folks from around the country who would be interested in helping us monitor Petfinder and other sites in their areas, call shelters and contact us when a dog is in danger. If this is something you might be interested in, please send me a private message letting me know that you're interested.
It would take about 1/2 to 1 hour or so every day or every other day. Most time would be online, some calling shelters.
Do you have a Long Distance Phone Plan?
Can you stay calm on phone with shelter (sometimes nasty) people?
Are you fairly competent on the computer?
That's about it as far as requirements, patience is #1.
Think about it, and let me know: lynne_fowler@yahoo.com
Kathryn, your best bet for adoption is to put applications all over, get accepted and then as soon as one becomes available in your area, they go thru their apps and pull them to call before they even list them on Petfinder or the paper. Go thru the listings for IN and make contact will all in your area. You can always refuse to take if it isn't right. Take one or two of your dogs to see the dog and that way you'll get an idea if they would be good together. Most shelters will let you do that. Put an app in with IDOG, too. You never know when the right one will come along. The point is to network yourself like we're trying to do here! Good Luck.
Hello and thank you. I have been searching and looking since the day I joined doodlekisses for my Doodle, but have just now filled out the application for a rescue. It has been great just reading and learning from Doodle owners. Now I have an idea what to expect. I think I need a young one to raise with my Yorkies or a very gentle older one that would be watchful over the Yorkies. I was leaning toward a male, but think Auggy might object. The girls don't mind another girl addition since there are 4 of them. Thank you for your welcome. Kathy
