Hi All - Well, I am finally home from a looong trip. Went to Mexico Beach, Fl. and met some new friends of my Mom & Dad. They had 2 children who were really nice to me. Even fed me treats yum :). But, didn't like to take a walk on what they call grass there. Too many sand spurs!!! Poor Mom, had to pick them out of my feet every time we came back from walking. She must have taken out at least 200 of them. And the sand there looks kinda white/grey but when it gets wet it turns dark…See More

Hi All - Bet you all thoght I fell off the face of the earth. No such luck. Just been really busy since arriving in N.C. TOO MUCH FUN THINGS TO DO. When Dad & Mom adopted me I weighd 3 lbs. Now I am a CHUNKY BUNKY weighing in at 6.7 lbs. Dad's home cooked food just for me is soooo gooood. Dad is a great chef and had a talk with both my vets, told them what he has made for me to eat (besides my biscuits) and they both gave him the Gold Seal of Approval. Patches (my sister cat…See More

Hi All -
Well, I am finally home from a looong trip. Went to Mexico Beach, Fl. and met some new friends of my Mom & Dad. They had 2 children who were really nice to me. Even fed me treats yum :). AdminLynne Fowler - Admin said… - Rambo's adorable. What's his story? You should be happy you weren't up North in the past few months...snow, cold, snow. I am surprised your cats aren't chasing lizards and frogs. I lived in FL many years ago and always had "presents" left for me on the porch. But Spring is coming...I just know it's coming. Soon! Our good friend Eliz Gunn is in the process of moving to NC from AR, I think the Asheville area. You guys will be neighbors. Site AdminJeannine, Gamine & Thalie said… - I got a puppy mill doodle too. Thalie was 6 month when she was rescue. We got her at 7 month. She was a skinny (only 39#), dirty and she was so so scare of everybody and everything except for our Golden Retriever Gamine.
Strangely, women scared her more that men. She got close to us very quickly but would run away if strangers will come in our home.
It took a few months before she got completely relax in the house and start to be herself, a sweet clown!
She is now 2 years 6 months and the light of our life! She is happy, funny and a real clown! She is still following her big sister and will do everything Gamine does! She is now around 65# but will always have a fragile stomac so we have to be careful of what we do feed her. Good home made food and very high quality kibble and very very little treats.
She was a lucky girl, the puppy mill where she come from would let her and her sibling go out for a small period of time almost every day and she was not kept in wire cage. Still she will alway be scare of strangers and only will trust her family.
I will never get another dog from a breeder, too much dogs need to be rescue.

Dr. Judy tried to post to you and it didn;t work so here is the gist of what she wanted to let you know :
"She has a shut down pup and needs to go slowly with high value treats and low value kibble. Dog may not have eaten well in awhile. Bile is an obvious and tell tale symptom. She needs to coax to liver or roast beef and cottage cheese. (Please let Joanna know I've tried to post.) Shut down and may also have worms and/or parasites. Her Vet will tell on Monday. Needs massage, schedule, to know where she is in this world and settle.
