This is Hairy. He was dumped off at a high kill shelter. I saw something in those sad eyes that made me want to go get this poor guy who kind of looks like a disheveled Tasmanian Devil. When I got him to the vet, he had to be completely sheared. Under all that hair and all those mats, were boils and tumors from a life in filth and degradation. Two weeks later, he is a bit naked, but healthy and well, and not so sad anymore.

I can't believe the shelter regardless of what kind it was would let them have another dog! Poor guy he looked so sad.

I was told that the people who dropped him off were straight out of "Deliverance" and the only thing lacking was the banjo music. They couldn't speak plainly enough to even give any history, reason why they were dumping him off, nothing. Two different phone numbers were given and when I tried to call them, neither was a working number. And to add insult to injury, they came back the next day and were allowed to adopt another dog, which they also left another non working phone number.

I always wonder what kind of human being, low life, can not even provide the most basic of care to an animal that so completely relies on them and so completely loves them.  How can you look that animal in the eyes and deny him/her basic care, attention, and love?

He is a sweetie.  I just checked on him, let him out on the deck so that he could lay in the first little bit of sunshine that we have seen in days.
