What's covered

Petplan is pleased to offer convenient, customizable plans with a choice of deductibles and coinsurance so pet owners can choose a plan that suits their needs and budget. Each Petplan policy will cover the following, with no added premium:

·        Hereditary and congenital conditions

·        Long-term chronic conditions, e.g., diabetes, hip dysplasia

·        Non-routine dental treatment

·        Prescription medications

·        Cancer treatment

·        Alternative treatments such as acupuncture or hydrotherapy

When a claim is filed, reimbursement is based on the actual amount paid to the veterinary clinic, instead of a benefit schedule or a fee determined by the insurer. There are also no time or dollar limits per condition. Instead, there's a simple annual limit, with no individual price increases based on claims

Pet insurance 101

Every 6 seconds, a U.S. pet owner is faced with a $1,000 vet bill. You love your pet, so if something happens, you're willing to do whatever it takes, at whatever costs. But what about when the vet bills add up to hundreds and even thousands of dollars?

Pet insurance pays your vet bills if your dog or cat becomes ill or is injured. All Petplan policies provide comprehensive coverage for veterinary treatment arising out of an illness or injury (provided that it is not pre-existing or occurred during the waiting period) including hospitalization, surgery, laboratory and diagnostic testing, X-rays, MRIs, prescription drugsalternative therapies, and specialist treatment.

Please note that this page provides a summary of typical coverages and is not meant to describe actual coverage under any individual pet plan policy. All insurance policies are subject to limitations and restrictions that may vary based on circumstance and state. Read the terms of your policy carefully to learn what coverages are provided under your insurance policy.

Petplan pet insurance is administered by Fetch Insurance Services, LLC (Fetch Insurance Agency, LLC in Michigan) and underwritten in the United States by AGCS Marine Insurance Company, a member of the Allianz Group and North American Elite Insurance Company.

"The wonderful CEO of Petplan, Chris Ashton,  replied to our questions about PetSecure...we had written to thank him for the check we received already, and asked about coverage in Canada:**A small gesture of appreciation for our partnership and I look forward to sending larger referral fee checks soon! As for Canada that's interesting. Pet Secure is not part of Petplan. They used to operate using the Petplan brand until a few years ago. We are actually in the process of developing our launch for Canada in the first half of 2011. I'll keep you posted. All the very best for 2011 Chris**"
