This weekend we lost are sweet Sadie.  It was the first warm day around here and she was very excited to be out in the yard playing w/ me as I gardened.  She usually stays when I open the yard door but for some odd reason decided to bolt out into the street as a truck was coming by.  She was struck.  She had nothing bleeding outside but all inside.  We had to put her down.  I miss everything about her.  There is no longer someone to greet me at the door. No one looking out "her" front window.  No one jumping up on the counter when she knows she shouldn't. No one to chase the joggers who chose to run behind our house. No one to race my husband and children to bed...you get the point.  I am strong with my faith and I know she is up there waiting for me to come home looking out some kind of window. I know time will heal my loss but it still hurts.  I just miss my puppy.  Her time was too short but I guess that is not for me to decide. I just hope she chasing butterflies on the beach, or jumping for bubbles as she loved to do. or purhaps God needed a young dog for a child who just crossed over to help them feel better. I don't know, she is surely missed.

I am so sorry, Renee. The tears are rolling down my face as I read your words. I added Sadie's picture you sent me earlier. She looks like an angel in it. You will meet her again, she will run and play and be happy until then. We can't ever know why we lose them or the people in our lives, we just have to go on and honor them.

Rest in peace, Sadie. Till we meet at the Rainbow Bridge.

OMG... Renee, I'm so so sorry for your loss. It is very sad to loose our companion when they are sick or old but this way it is horrible. We do not know why things like this happen, I guess it is a reason for but it id very hard to understand. My though and prayers are with you and your family.

RIP little angel.

thank you ladies for your thoughts and support.  that's very nice of you.  i'm sure if there is a beach by the bridge she's there. and i can't wait for her to knock me down with one of her famous "kangaroo" jumps. she was only with our family 3 years, but she was indeed one of the pack.  i will never understand why she darted, but the lesson i learn is to NEVER take anything for granted and assume it will be there tomorrow including loved ones.
Our tears and hearts are with you, Renee.
I am so very sorry. It hurts so terribly. My prayers are with you.
thank you paula, it does hurt very bad.  i am trying to take Lynne's advice and honoring her rather than crying and grieving. she would want me to be happy.  i am very thankful i found this site.
