CAN YOU RECOMMEND A GOOD BOOK? ABOUT DOGS, RESCUE, TRAINING, MEDICAL OR OTHER TOPIC THAT OTHERS MIGHT BE INTERESTED IN? HOW ABOUT A BOOK JUST FOR ENJOYMENT?

START A SEPARATE DISCUSSION ON EACH BOOK AND PUT A PICTURE, THE YEAR AND TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT THE BOOK. WHY DID YOU LIKE IT? HAVE A DISCUSSION ABOUT IT, TOO.

A book about a dog - "Merle's Door: Lessons from a Freethinking Dog" by Ted Kerasote.  Not to be read as a guide to dog training or behaviour because this dog is allowed to run free. But wonderfully written and a very good read (tissues required!).

Awh, Thanks Linda. Anything we can do to help, let us know. I wish we had time to write a book. Jac and I have talked about it many times. But the rescue keeps us hopping. There are many stories here on these pages. Feel free to interview or ask for stories. I'd love to see the stories come alive. Thanks, Lynne

Well everyone- this 6 month search that culminated in finding wonderful "lizzy" and becoming aware of this wonderful group of people on this site has spurred me on to something that I'd never thought I'd do. Many people have told me I should but I think the dedication that everyone here shows has given me the perfect reason. I've already started a book(presently named "The Journey) about my schnauzer, Lizzy and other critters I have known. If you wish to contribute a story, feel free to send. Don't know if it will ever get published but you can bet if it does, anything sold will bring this great group more money to keep going! Wish me luck. Linda, "Lizzy, Sammy, Callie, Biscuit, Chanel and Maggie"

If you go through igive and then to Amazon.com, the DRC gets a donation. They also have Barnes & Noble in their lists to use who give donations. All these books are available through Amazon and Barnes & Nobel.

I haven't had time to read any good books lately, but love your suggestions!
