Patricia is
one of our Puppy Mill
Ferals. She doesn't know
touch or trust at all. She
and her brother, Hershey,
came from a miller in VA
and are comfortable in
their foster homes, now,
but will probably never
be adoptable.
Patricia will snap and bite
if you try to pick her up.
She is desperately afraid
of people and it breaks
our hearts to see a
beautiful girl, like this.
BUT...
when it's dinnertime, Patricia behaves like she hit the jackpot!
She loves chicken and rice and was probably hungry often in her former life. She has wriggled
herself into the pack and especially at bedtime, will join everyone in our nightly rituals and picks
a bed very near the rest. It is nice to see her behaving like she is happy. Just don't touch!

Our sanctuary is a place of refuge for these unadoptable dogs. Because they were let down by humans in the past, they are not very trusting. At the sanctuary, they are given behavioral therapy or other treatments that give them a sense of safety. They are unavailable for adoption and will spend their lives running around an acre yard, chasing squirrels or lazing in the sun.
You can help by providing a monthly donation of just $20, which will help feed, provide medical care and love these broken souls. Please consider a donation, today.
