Welcome to the Midwest Oodles of Doodles Region. Here you will find resources and information, as well as listings of dogs needing homes, in the following states:

If you are looking to adopt a poodle-mix dog, Congratulations! In the Midwest listings below, you will find photos of poodle-mixes, and other dogs, needing homes. If you see a dog you are interested in, click on the link below the photo for more information on the dog, the shelter or rescue group, and how to adopt.

Please note that this is a virtual resource for those searching for poodle-mix dogs and the dogs you see here are not with RRC, nor do we have any other information available. You must address all inquiries about specific dogs to the rescue or shelter given.

Poodle-mixes hold a special place here at the RRC and those poo-mixes needing homes deserve as much attention as possible. That is why RRC lists dogs needing homes as a courtesy for shelters and rescue organizations in the Midwestern states.

Site Admin Comment by Susan D. on September 21, 2012 at 9:07am: Donna, I had the same experience as Kim. I searched and searched and filled out apps and was willing to drive to other states. I found Marlow through a PetFinder posting on this site and he was in our local town! iDog had a representative locally to do a home check and interview, so we were approved! Happiest day of our lives was going to pick him up! Keep an eye on the listings and submit apps to all the rescues ahead of time if you can. Good luck!

Comment by Kimberly White on September 20, 2012 at 11:34pm: Donna, We are in Indiana and were searching for months for a Doodle. I filled out/inquired about many before we were blessed with our Jada. I saw a post on Oodles of Doodles via Pet Finder one day about Jada and immediately e-mailed via the posted website. I was instructed, as per previous sites, to fill out an application. I got very lucky and they did my background check with our vet and we were approved. Jada came to us on January 6th as a 5 year old breeder surrender and has become the love of our lives!! My husband is "over the top" for her and we have been blessed beyond words. As Lynne said....BE PROACTIVE!! You will fill out many applications, but your doodle is out there. Believe me, I had almost given up hope, but then Jada was there. Keep us posted and let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Comment by Donna L. Vulgamore on September 20, 2012 at 5:31pm: We are new to the doodle world, but because of allergies a doodle was recommended to us. I have had previous experience with Norweigan Elkhounds both in breeding quality animals and in the show ring. We are looking to rescue a doodle and give him/her a forever home. I fell in love with a posting on another web site but was too late, so I know the right doodle is out there somewhere to share in our love of each otheer. This site gives me hope the right doodle is there somewher for us. We joined the midwest group because we are in south west Ohio but are willing to travel to Pa, KY and In.

I applied for so many and finally got our Jada. The right doodle will come your way. Hugs and prayers to your family on the loss of your beloved Sparky.

I know the apps are time consuming but the best way to get your doodle is to apply all over and in many cases, once your app is approved, the rescue or shelter will contact you when what you are looking for comes in. Be open and your doodle will find you. Sending hugs.

Comment by Kimberly Williams on June 26, 2012 at 11:13pm: My family and I rescued an awesome labradoodle from Craigslist this past August. Sparky was gentle, great with kids, and very smart. He was also the protector of our house. My husband took him for a walk every morning rain or shine at our local park. Last Sunday something caught Sparky's eye and instead of getting in the car, he walked to the street. It was only a matter of seconds and Sparky was dead. He just turned 4 in May. My husband, daughters and I are devastated. We are wanting to rescue another labradoodle. We live in Mi and are willing to travel. We hope we can find another family member to fill our hearts again.
