Oh, Yeah - I know Glenda! She's great! Where did she get 57 dogs? I'm having a blonde moment and don't know what "PM castoffs" means. I haved used Peterson's a lot in the past, but have been using Alpha Dog since they started, primarily because I like that the dogs stay on and arrive in 24 hours without having to offload and overnight. That, and I never seem to be able to pull an adoption together by Thursday morning - LOL! Even now, half the time I am up almost all night Thursday night copying paperwork, filling out contracts, etc.My dream is to be all caught up some day, having all a dog's paperwork filled out it advance, etcc...yeah, right! I need an administrative assistant in the worst way! And a computer geek - heck, I just need a "keeper" in general! It is so hard to work from home and be a good boss to yourself! I tend to get side-tracked by the silliest things - like alphabetizing my spices or sorting my undie drawer by color or spending an hour brushing out one Poodle ear. But, by golly, my dogs' ears are squeeky clean! They hate it when they see me get out the baby wipes and ear wash......gets rid of them FAST!
Anyway, tell Alyssa and Glenda I said "Hey" I's bet Lynne would be willing to post a link to Peterson's site somewhere on here, but I can't speak for her. I now there are a lot of people on here looking for dogs, and they may be more open to long-distance adoption if they know there is transport is available.

She's great. I've transported many a setter to her. I know her health is not good, but she plows on!

Interesting how our lives interconnect, isn't it?

My friend Glenda from Goodlettsville drives the Pets LLC truck to Little Rock each week to pick up dogs for the New England run. She stops at various interstate exits along the way, picking up reserved passengers!!! She stops at Cookeville and then Kyle the owner takes over.

Maybe you have met Glenda. She is a lab rescuer. Just last week, she picked up 57 dogs in LR area (all types, I believe - PM castoffs) and drove them to Palm Beach where they had homes waiting!

Ah! setterrescuemom took in my crazy redhead a couple of years ago when I was sick...Ginger the weedeater/dustpan bandit! And my Gordon Setter, too. She and I met at the shelter in Little Rock a looong time ago to pick up an old, beat-up Mastiff that she took to a sanctuary in Colorado or something.
Good to see you here!

Hi, Elizabeth! Welcome! Don't recall if we ever met, but I've been posting on Yahoo groups for a long time - for transports, for rescues, for adoptions, for urgents, etc. So I get crossposted a lot! I helped recover a lost Doodle about 2 years ago, who ran away the same day he arrived in Brentwood-he came from KY. Anyway, it was a miracle I found him where and when I did! True miracle story!
I have done many HVs for setter rescues and have been friends withSetter Rescue Mom in Memphis for years. I enjoy doing HV as I meet so many new and neat people - on both ends of the HV. Good to meet you!

Hi, Emilie - I'm in Little Rock - I think you and I have "met" before; I know your name is familiar. Do you know Scott Hoffman in Nashville with Bullmastiff rescue? Or maybe it's through my English Setter rescuing or other bird dogs? Anyway, if you remember, let me know! Be sure to join the GunnDogs group on here!

Sorry Grant did not make it! I know you did everything possible!

Where in AR are you? I'm in MidTN - Nashville.

Since I don't know how to copy and paste on here yet, wanted to ask everyone on here to take a look at the post I just made on the Arkansas Doodle Project Update under discussions. Grant, one of the ones I picked up literally off the highway after having been hit by a car, is very ill and not doing well at all. I am terribly worried about him and am asking for prayers for him. He is such a sweet boy and doesn't deserve this! I am wondering if he is suffering long-lasting effects from the rat poison some jerk fed him. I am determined to get Grant happy and healthy! This has gone on way too long for the poor guy. He is so thin it is painful to see, but still wants to play and snuggle. This is starting to get to me!

Hey Elizabeth, you do such good work. So glad you are here and I get the jumping up...mine are quiet lugs and so gentle until someone comes in the door. It could be Dracula and they are on their back legs like kangaroos. Glad you are among "us".
