I have emailed IDOG about this girl. She is desperately in need help. The shelter is the absolutely WORST place for a momma to give birth!

ID 24972

Black female mix, aprox 1 year old, around knee high, super friendly and affectionate! These photos were taken yesterday, she is just starting to get her milk in and is HUGE around the middle. Does anyone have room for her and her impending family? She is doing just fine with the other dogs in her run and absolutely loves people. If you can rescue this sweetheart, please contact Jamie Martinez, the adoption/rescue coordinator at Dekalb ASAP!

Hi guys,
I'm back. :) Unfortunately this girl isn't listed on petfinder or any other of this shelter's sites because she is only available to a reputable rescue and not available for adoption. I know emails have been sent out about this girl to LOTS of rescues and no one has been able to step forward. Everywhere is packed.
I saw her on a site for Urgent dogs in Georgia. I only have seen this photo, I have NO idea what she looks like in real life or what her true 'heritage' is :). Perhaps, if someone contacted the shelter they could send other pics.
If we can find somewhere for her to go, I'm willing to paper the Internet and beg, threaten, or bribe LOL to get this girl transport and to get help for any fundraising she may need.
April, did you see Liz's message above? She has someone in TN, just have to get her there.
Thank you Jeannine! I wonder if we can't still help her but the understanding is that IDOG/DRRC funds, etc. won't be used? I absolutely understand that IDOG needs to keep its resources for Doods, but I don't think it would hurt for people to continue to work to get this girl safe w/the understanding that a different rescue needs to be willing to take 'responsibility'. If someone was still willing to foster and save this girl, many all-breed rescues would be willing to help with the whelping, adoption process and list her on petfinder as long as she has a foster home that THEY (the rescue) do not have to come up with because all of their fosters are full.
That's the problem...all the fosters available are full. We have been asking for fosters here and on DK for weeks for Texas. I blasted it to all of our members here, posted in on Facebook and Twitter. Texas has seen many, many more doodles in shelters. They are trying to arrange a transport to bring some of them up north.

Georgia is the same thing and we have nowhere to go with them. Even bringing her north, we have no fosters here. It is getting to be a critical situation all over the country. If someone could do it, they would.
That's GREAT news, Liz. Thank You for ALL you did and do.
I am in Illinois and would be interested in helping?
