How can I help? I am new to doodle rescue. Can we act as a foster home? Unfortunately I am in Maryland under blizzard conditions. I don't know when we'll have access to air travel, etc. Please tell me what we can do to help save this doodle.

I'm in Maryland, too. I'm hoping one of our TX volunteers can help out. I'd certainly be willing to pitch in for rescue, and we could foster, too. Let's see what kind of response we get.

Be careful what you wish for:) I was contacted today by a local rescuer who says that PG County Animal Management Group is in the process of euthanizing ALL of their dogs. They have one tagged as a standard poodle that the DRC has committed to rescue. I also found another one tagged as a wheaten terrier mix that I'm looking into. If they can still be rescued, would you be able to foster?

Thanks, Debra. We're still trying to see if these dogs can be pulled in time. The shelter isn't answering their phone and they're technically closed today. On top of everything else, the blizzard is surely wreaking havoc. They're putting down dogs due to the cold and lack of funds and help. I have someone who is trying some back channels to see if they can be rescued. Once that happens, we'll figure out what else the dogs need.

I'm still interested in helping. Prince George's County is about an hour from me. Since the shelter is closed today, I could pick up a dog tomorrow. Please let me know as soon as you hear something. L.A., you have my cell phone # if you need immediate help.
