Hi all!  I thought it might be a good idea to post some information for new members, and a reminder to existing members:

If you are looking to adopt, be sure to join your region to get notices of new cross-posts.  Remember most of the dogs are not with us, but rather courtesy cross posts for other shelters and rescues.  If you see a dog you like, click on his/her link for more information on adopting/contacts, etc.  Here is a link to the main regions, click on yours, and be sure to click “join group” so that you receive notifications for that group:

Canada    Northwest    Southwest    California    Midwest    Southeast    Northeast

Check out the Oodles of Doodles.org available dogs or owner assist rehomes.  You can find these in the body of the main page (under “adopt your new best friend”) or sometimes under the blog discussions.  Of course, you can contact Lynne Fowler, administrator, for information on dogs available through Oodles of Doodles.org.

Post a discussion: we would love to hear from you!  Tell us your stories ask us your questions.  Are you thinking of a rescue?  Thinking of a doodle?  Heard something about rescues or doodles?  Or maybe you recently adopted?  Share your questions, stories, and experiences with us.   We are all here to listen, learn, and help.

Post pictures!  Oh my, we get so many new members each week and so few photos!  We want to meet you, meet your family, meet your pets.  So, don’t forget to post pictures.

Post a blog: Want to just share, maybe track progress, or maybe just rant? Post a blog!  Chances are there are others that have “been there” or others that would love to learn from your experience.

Check out the groups.  There are a lot of groups with different topics of interest.  Check them out.  Don’t forget to join those you have a keen interest in!

OK, so far I have discussed posting, but just remember to read.  Check out the website, other people’s discussions, blogs, member’s pages, groups, etc.  This is definitely a way to learn.  And feel free to add to discussions, blogs, etc.  Hey, maybe you see that another member also has a dog that loves to surf the counter :)

VOLUNTEER!  If you have about an hour a day to help cross-post oodles in need, we would love to have you on our team.  Please contact Lynne Fowler or Sue & the Crew if you are interested in helping (virtually) oodles in need.

Finally, don’t be afraid to ask.  If you have a question, ask away!  That is what we are all here for!

Please feel free to add to this discussion, I’m sure I missed something :)
