Welcome, Amy. We're glad you're here. Keep an eye on our listings and you will find your "Oodle." Be proactive and send in lots of apps on lots of dogs and your perfect dog will find you. If we can help at all, just shout. Again, Welcome Aboard.
Permalink Reply by Amy Siary on January 18, 2012 at 8:34pm Have you been looking through the Southeast Listings? We don't list breeders dogs, unless they sign up with us for rehoming some of their dogs. Our listings are those dogs in rescues and shelters.

Susan is great about updating and I know there are some in the Carolina's. If you see a dog you are interested in, click on the link with the picture and read about the dog, what they are looking for and how to apply. That's what I meant by fill out lots of apps. There are many beautiful dogs just waiting to be found and loved. Don't give up, keep at it and you will find each other.

Hi Amy, I just posted some great dogs this morning! I can vouch for taking your time and you will will find a doodle for your family! I have two that are fantastic! I didn't want to pay breeder's prices and plus the chance to give a dog a better home life than they had previously was a huge incentive. There are lots of wonderful dogs that need homes right now....I have never seen so many being given up or found wandering on their won. It is sad! Welcome to our site ;)
Lynne means by "submitting apps" that you should call or email the different rescues and they all have applications to adopt dogs and some have an approval process to go through such as checking references, veternary check, home check etc.
Good luck with your search! You may find a dog this week or it may be in six months, but you WILL find one!

Oh, one other thing....a rescue dog can cost anywhere from $40 at a shelter to $400 through various rescues. I just wanted to let you know what to expect. This is much less than breeders charge and there are even some puppies available if that is what you want. Lots of older dogs in the 3-5 year and up age range available. (I didn't want to go through house breaking a puppy and chose to adopt a 2.5 year old first and then a 2 year old next.)
