Hi,

I had an apricot Goldendoodle for 15 yrs that I rescued along with his mother from a puppy mill and was devastated when he passed away. It has taken me years to get ready to look for another because it hurt so deeply and I missed him so much and I am now definitely ready. If anyone knows of any can you notify me? Thank you so much in advance! Sharon SHeller1922@aol.com

Sharon, we crosspost many doodles in need of loving homes in our Adoptable Doodles Listings (see tab above). We also have our own dogs up for adoption in DRC Doodles under the Adoptable Doodles tab. You have come to the right place to begin your search. Search, send lots of applications and when it's right, it will happen.
thank you!! :)
Well, my answer is that when I was 19 I developed a rare eye disease and now at almost 47 I only have 30% vision. The disease makes it difficult to see white, beige, black, some shades of brown, etc so I need a dog with color such as apricot. I get my email through voice recording that reads my email and I speak to type. My dogs that I have had for the past 28 years had always been this color (Poodle, Irish Setter, Goldendoodle) for that reason. Makes life a lot easier for me.
WOW, I am very upset that you can just coe back and tell me I am not ready to adopt a homeless dog because I can't consider another one besides the one I lost. It also hurts me that people judge me because I post something specific. Some people do have resons why they must have something specific. Instead of judging and assuming I do not want a white or black dog people need to learn more about the person and their issues and reasons. Believe me, I would love to be able to have my eyesight so that I can have any dog. I love animals and would love to have a home full of them. I am only inquiring about a specific one so that I can have one as a companion..
Sharon, that is not the sentiment behind the questions. Karen said, "So please know that I ask the following question with the greatest compassion for you." She is asking you to think as many of our dogs come in many shapes, sizes, colors and needs. It has nothing to do with your disability but a rescued dogs needs. Rescue is not one stop shopping, we take and love them as they are. Karen and others will ask questions, which is what they did. They are not judging you, only asking.
Sharon,
I think that you should first make an application with the DRC and as many shelter you can in your area. Also the DRC have that gorgeous apricot mini-goldendoodle who need a new home. Could you consider her or another like her?

I'm so sorry for all the struggles and pain you situation have bring to you. I'm sure you will find the "one" just for you soon.

Karen and the other members of the DRC have concern about the best ending for those doodles. They want to make sure that it will be their last forever home. They do all have concern too about the family who will adopt the doodles. I'm sure they would never judge you or anybody else.
I wish you the best.
