I've noticed it always seems like food is blamed first for allergies. Tell someone your dog is itchy and they say "switch foods". Then you hear about people going through months of changing foods usually (I stress usually) with little results. Now, I have also seen many discussions that suggest the allergy is environmental, not food. That sort of made more sense to me (being a grass/ragweed sufferer) - especially if the dog is showing "seasonal" symptoms.<br />

I had a friend who always insisted that most allergies are NOT caused by food. But I am one of those people who believes everything is related to what we put in or on our bodies (or our dogs) and I believe the first place to start is the food.<br />

Especially, with the cost associated with vet testing and ignorance on this topic by many vets, food is an easy place to start. If the problem continues, I would move to products in the home, chemicals, etc. But I am not a big doctor person to begin…
