Scary. Again!
One of you great Independent Pet Store People out there sent me a 'heads up' that their Distributor would not be delivering any products made by Diamond Pet Food; though she received no explanation why. I called Diamond and was told...
Paraphrasing 'In light of the recent Diamond Pet Food Recall, out of precaution Diamond is suspending delivery of all products made at the Diamond South Carolina facility until more information is available.' Told to me by Julie, Diamond Pet Food Representative.
Julie did not have a list of Diamond manufactured foods made at the South Carolina Plant. She suggested if a pet owner has a question if the food was made at the South Carolina Diamond Pet Food plant, please contact the respective company.
Foods made by Diamond Pet Food (though not confirmed to be made at the South Carolina Plant) Solid Gold Canidae/Felidae Natural Balance Kirkland (Costco Brand) Chicken Soup Taste of the Wild
No other information was provided. Julie was very open and did not hesitate to share this with me. I thank Diamond Pet Food for the openness.
Thanks to Kristin for the information leading to this news from Diamond!
Wishing you and your pet(s) the best,
Susan Thixton
Here is the list of foods made by Diamond Pet Foods....not sure ifTOTW is made in SC, but it looks like I will be switching kibble! Marlow is finally eating and doing well, darn it!!! This is so scary!
Just got off the phone with TOTW customer service. Since I am in FL my bags are produced in SC. There have been no issues with anything but the Diamoond Naturals lamb and rice, but the plant is closed right now for them to check everything. It worries me!
Not sure what you can do anymore. It seems every brand has problems at one time of another. Homecooking is the only sure way to know what the dogs are eating. I think.
Was just sent this link in my inbox: http://www.diamondpet.com/information/ for information from the manufacture on this recall go to this link

I just got a call from my Costco about the Kirkland food. They said that none of their food has tested positive for salmonella but they are recalling it anyway. I don't use it, but I really hate these recalls.
